How many jelly beans in the jar?

Assuming a Z4 production start date of April 1, and considering present supply chain/shipping issues, what's your guess for a U.S. delivery date?

I hope that this doesn't turn into an April Fools joke!

I'm in the same boat. Expected production week 14. Dealer told me late May delivery.

I hope that's true! But just 2 months from production start to delivery sounds very optimistic from all the chatter. Looks like you're in FL so you can still drive it whenever it comes in though. Here in Chicago, if it arrives in the fall, I'll pretty much have to put it into storage right after it comes in.

Some dealers already have cars lined up for production and only have to change the colors and/ or packages listed in the system to meet your needs. IMHO, that is why they are able to offer quick deliveries from the factory.

That being said, once produced they still may be held at the port or on arrival at a distribution center for some backordered parts.

I'll just be an optimist and say you'll have it for Memorial Day weekend.

Can I get your build options? Is it a stripped Z4M40i or a fully loaded Exec, etc?

Options will be the deciding factor for delivery here.

I decided to skip the ACC when I heard that it wouldn't let me tailgate. It's sort of my part-time job.

I don't know about other areas, but lease rates went up slightly and it also looks like the lease residual was lowered too.

Given that you are in Chicago, and assuming NOT a frozen paint job ...

Assuming its a Week 14 build, as i haven't seen cars go into production on a Friday (4/1) before, but also my G29 is the only BMW I've ever bought off a lot from dealer inventory and not a Priority 1 build, so I have no experience with the outsourced factory builds ... my jelly bean guess is as follows:

Vehicle will be completed at Magna Steyr by: April 8, 2022
Vehicle will head to Bremerhaven by: April 14, 2022
Vehicle will depart Bremerhaven on ship by May 9, 2022
Vehicle will will arrive at Port Newark, NJ by May 21, 2022
Vehicle will sit at the BMW VPC in NJ until June 22, 2022 on stop sale for RAM module installation
Vehicle will depart Newark, NJ on enclosed carrier by July 1, 2022
Vehicle will arrive at Chicagoland dealer by July 7, 2022
Vehicle PDI will be completed with customer delivery on or after July 9, 2022

Lets see how close I get

Only a month for the RAM stop sale? You are optimistic.

Mine was 2 months and didn't have the wiring harness issue that just popped up.

I have a G30 on order. All the 5 series guys have been waiting 4 weeks on average lately in NJ VPC for RAM module installs. My understanding is these are all the same part # for HK. The BW equipment has been sitting for months on stop-sale awaiting parts (3+ months)

Wire harnesses seem to be sorted out atleast for the short-term. My G30 moved from week 13 to week 14 production and is still on-track for week 14 as of today ... fingers crossed

Mine just completed the stop sale in about 3 weeks. I got out before the wiring harness problem though so who knows

Just read a Mercedes factory in India shut down because a leopard got in… they tranquilized the animal and production resumed.
