That's a trade-off. I'll stay over as I couldn't make it home that afternoon and would stop somewhere anyway. Plus the wife wants to explore the area. So we'll make it a mini vacation and take a few days to get back.

If you do want to head out that afternoon, you can be done with delivery by 2 pm, earlier if you skip the factory tour. (I'm assuming they'll be doing tours by then. They were suspended last month for model year changeover.)

PS. MyBMW now shows me 'At the port'.

Congrats looks awesome. Might not be as necessary with SG, but you may want to reconsider PPF on the black trim on the A pillar, and front end and hood including headlights. In 3k miles I’ve been pummeled and glad I did the PPF. Having the hood redone tomorrow because a rock punched a hole in the PPF, and one of the headlights also because it’s all scraped up.

Mine is now in transit from the port to the dealer as of about 3 hours ago. For those who’ve done this before, does it seem realistic I could pick it up Friday?

If the truck makes it to the dealer tomorrow or first thing Thursday, you've got a chance of Friday delivery. Depends on how busy the PDI guys are. If there's two truckloads of X vehicles ahead of you, you might have to wait another day or two.

Generally, PDI takes a day or two.

Thanks. I’m going to call my CA right when it gets there. This will be the second car we’ve gotten from them this year, so hopefully he can pull some strings

That would be tight and dependent upon how motivated your SA is to get it prepped for you and whether there was any damage en route. I had a similar situation as yours, going from Baltimore to St. Louis. My Z4 arrived on a Friday and I was able to take delivery on Saturday. It's best to start talking to your SA now if you haven't already.

Awesome, thank you for the feedback. Saturday would work too. Was just thinking I could take the day off Friday if it’s there so I have the whole weekend to play around!

From the US port? I arrived early last Tuesday, so about a week.

Yeah, you'll be fine. Mine switched from "at port" to "in transit" yesterday morning around 10 am, so it took a little over 24 hours to get to my dealer (which is about an 11 hour drive from the port).
