Just had my z4 20i b48 remapped at West Yorkshire Tuning, from standard 197 bhp 232 lb.ft torque to 296 bhp 307 lb.ft torque, the difference is incredible it feels like a different car

That's massive. ~50% improvement in HP and ~35% in torque.

I agree! Absolutely. Seems like it must be overcoming the crippled tune in place.

How does it feel driving at 'normal' speeds or in slow going traffic?

Not too surprising if you think about it. The 20i is a detuned 30i which puts out 255hp from the factory. So you know getting to that point is pretty easy.

There are any number of aftermarket tunes/maps that can push the 30i into the 290-300hp range, so why wouldn't those maps bring the 20i up to the same range?

It just shows how robust the B4x engines are and how much they detuned the entry level models. OTOH, a 50% hp boost will definitely be noticeable.

Driving in normal traffic is fine especially in Eco mode .👍and sport +is smooth just a lot more touque ..
