All good. My glass guy recommended Pilkington glass aftermarket (but a BMW supplier). All tech seems to be working well and saved me 30% vs BMW glass quote.

Changed rear emblems to black to match rest of car trim. Z4 badge is OEM. Sdrive is from eBay (China). Could not find an OEM sdrive. Will see how it holds up.

Do you and others recommend getting something like DYNOflex? I have it one of my cars but wasn't planning on getting it on my pending Z4 unless necessary. Thanks!

Your link states it's temporarily unavailable in the US. I'm not familiar with it but the 1 year warranty doesn't breed confidence.

How long have you had it installed on your vehicle and how has it performed? What was your installation cost? I'm sure it varies by vehicle but I'm just curious of typical cost.

FWIW, my Z4 is the first vehicle I've owned in over a decade that made it past its first year without a rock chip, probably just luck.

I don't think I'd put anything on the windshield. I suppose there's a chance it's a perfect product but I can't imagine that I'd have anything on it that I wouldn't see distorting the light in some way or another. Just sounds like an awful idea. It may not be, but sure sounds like it.

I’ve had it for 18 months and it ate a big rock about a year ago. If the angle of the Z4 is prone to chips then I’m going to get it again. There’s some distortion that is dependent on the amount of sun the car sees. The more sun the less distortion. I paid $500 but it’s $400-600 in Tampa area depending on installer. They do recommend it be replaced every 3-5 whereas ppf can go longer.

A lot of people put tint on the inside of their windshields these days. I’m a bit worried about liability and not willing to go that far. Windshield protection is clear.

I wouldn’t consider putting a product like this on my windshield because living in Florida I have the advantage of zero dollar deductible for windshield replacement. 👍🏻

Me too. I need to check with SF. I had a different carrier a few years ago and they would only use OEM within one model year of the car. I’d pay for the windshield protection here in Florida to not have to deal with Safelite and to ensure I have OEM glass for years to come.

Forget Safelite, take the car to your dealer and have them deal with your insurance company.

My friend just took his M3 to the dealer and made them specify OEM glass that is compatible with HUD.

It's a little module on the bottom of the lights that you can replace, there are a few different options, yellow, amber, red, blue, purple and rgb, dependening on where you look its 250-300$

Yellow running lights look like the M4CSL version - Very cool!! Looks like the US version might be either $99 or $124
