Any one order one lately? "Where's the beef?"

Seems like this car is a lost child when it comes to BMW N.A. No incentives, no loyalty fee offered and very few 2021's are arriving. I had one dealer call me with a "just off the boat arrival in 2 weeks" meeting my build specs I had submitted to the sales guy. They would only discount the car $2,500 or 4.7% off MSRP.

Guess I'm stubborn cause my 2019 X5 came with a 7% discount off the dealer's MSRP, $2,500 USAA financing thru BMW Finance and then there was the $1,000 discount from CCA but I digress.

Am hoping something comes a long, perhaps a "fall madness" sale.

In Europe you currently get routinely 15-18% off sticker. U.S. mostly mid single digits for custom orders. Worse since COVID reduces supply.
But M8s are dirt cheap right now...

I wonder why the huge difference regarding discounts. Can an American order directly thru a Euro dealer to get such a 15% off discount?

I did a lot of negotiating. Nearly brought it from a dealer the other end of the county to get such a big discount but my local one eventually agreed to match it.

I got 15% off but it was right when Covid first started hitting NYC before the lockdown. I definitely wouldn’t be able to get that deal from them now. There’s too much demand for anything (new and used) because of short supply (at least in the NE of the USA...).

You can buy a European spec car, but the cost changing the car from euro to U.S. specs and shipping it will never pay out. Not even considering the hurt from exchange rate.

So for all practical purposes: No.
