UK First Edition

Today was collection day!

I am in love

Here’s my 2019 G29 M40i First Edition in Frozen Orange
One if 44... (or 45 depending on what you read)
She’s done 1,800 miles, is just shy of one year old and has definitely given me the smile factor!

I’ve spent the day playing with the settings, connecting my profile and generally navigating the menu’s and of course giving her a bit of a blast about... the power is amazing, enough to give you a punch but also when needed the car is so refined.

Being used (as a demo) she’s got one or two marks which helped me get a further 10% off the window price (on top of the 30% reduction from new!) Did I mention she’s only done 1800 miles!?!

So I’ll need to either get over them or plan some repairs (potentially costly with the matte paint?). I’ve read the paint does mask them generally and also NOT to attempt to polish small scratches out at risk of making them look a lot worse..What’s the best option instead... Ignore them?

Generally I am over the moon!

Weirdly the passenger side mirror does not auto dim when the drivers one does, presume that’s a fault rather than a weird design? My F30 dims both.

Ok, final question... how do I wash the hood! You will see in the quick pics I took at handover some dodgy swirl from I guess an attempt at cleaning by them.

Right, the pics; Each one gives the colour a whole different look

So my plan was to sell the F30 to help fund the Zed but the trade in value was weak so I told myself I would sell it privately... although now I’ve shuffled the wife’s F45 over to the left a bit I think now I can convince her that our drive fits 3 cars... sort of

Congrats on the new car it looks amazing.

A small world........ I had an extended test drive in this exact car last year at Vines BMW Crawley before ordering a new one I still have the pictures on my phone. I was close to doing a deal on this very car but the numbers at the time didn't quite work out for me. The test drive certainty convinced me to buy one.

Maybe you are local to me? I live in Crawley Down - so will keep an eye out for you.

Congratulations, it's stunning!

I would get rid of the F45 2er and keep the F30 3er instead!

Looks great, welcome to the club

I think the best thing with chips and scratches, if that's what the marks are, is leave it a few weeks in case you get any more, then look at the car from at least a metre away and see if they stand out.

I'm a bit OCD and if I looked too closely I'd spend my whole life touching up near-invisible marks on my car.

Congratulations! Amazing car!

I bought a First edition myself, annoyingly just before lockdown! But hey - it's now been washed more that it's been driven!

The Matt paint is great and I'm getting used to my wash technique now. I personally use chemical guys, who have a range of wash products and detail stuff specifically for these paints. I'd say it's good stuff so would recommend. Some of the products I saw on the forum seemed a bit more difficult to locate in the UK.

My car was also a dealer tester so has a few marks. I'm tempted to leave personally as I think the cost would outweigh the worth. There is tiny marks here and there which for the most part you would never notice except in the right lighting...

My only tip though, just be super careful cleaning bird s**t etc... Even the slightest rub will mark, so make sure to soak properly first... I learned the hard way!!
