I would rather have the wind deflector than the badging. Most especially when my wife is with me as she complains about the wind when driving at high speed on a highway.

Yes in the UK it either comes as part of the Comfort Package (which also includes stuff like comfort access and heated steering wheel), or it is a £170 standalone option.

Great idea. Car sounds lovely. I went with black car with cognac seats, tech, shadow line plus (for the black wheels) and comfort. Comfort for the heated steering wheel as they wouldn’t add it otherwise!

WOW. I don't think it's worth $200. For that, I would spend the extra for the glass deflector.

Unfortunately it isn’t a straightforward option if you have a UK build as you can’t just slot a new Wind Deflector in if you didn’t order the option originally - there are other parts needed first - excellent description of what is needed in the following post …

Andy - just heard that mine has gone into build this week with delivery expected mid Feb - no definite information on touchscreen as of yet.

Have you check on MyBMW. Where it lists your build details it will say if one of your options was deleted.

That’s amazing! I had a call last week that mine wont be here until June at the earliest i think its because even though i have been waiting ages for the 30i, the 40i is now being put through as a new order! Gutted

Oh no! Similar history for me, I’d ordered a 20i in early August but changed to the M40i in early September so didn’t lose too much time. They told me the same that it had to be raised as a new order because it is built on a different production line.

Fingers crossed yours arrives sooner.

No I didn’t know you could do that, I guess I’ll need a VIN? (which I don’t have yet but I am chasing).

You can use the production number too if you get it before the VIN.

Got my VIN from the dealer today but it seems that we can't track the order in MyBMW here in the UK.

Update on my order (in case it is useful to others).

My M40i is now in paintshop with delivery expected in 4 weeks. I've had the Genius Team send me the current options list and at present there is no touchscreen delete, or backup assistant delete, showing.

The following deletes are showing though:

Z6W - Description "Deletion of wireless charging". As expected.

6P1 - Description ""Wifi Functions" - I believe this is the delete code for Apple Carplay and Android Auto and may possibly affect other functions (I've seen OTA updates mentioned in another forum). I think some aspects may be re-instated via a software update in the future but I don't have any concrete details from the dealer as of yet.

I think the Enhanced Bluetooth with Wireless Charging may be back as an option on the tech pack in uk.. i configured one last night on the BMW website and it is now back! Maybe worth mentioning it to sales?? Wish mine was coming in 4 weeks!!

Yes I spotted this earlier, I’ve just missed out by the looks but reckon you should be OK with yours so there are some benefits of it being a bit later!!

I have an M40i scheduled for February Week 4 production (late March delivery), and I just assumed that it would arrive as ordered (Premium Enhanced Package, which includes HUD). Now I'm concerned that it may show up without touch screen (essential in 2022, IMO) or HUD...

I guess a visit to the dealership is in order!

Last week, one of my best friends took delivery of an M240i which I believe has the same size touchscreen as the Z4 M40i. The car had a working touchscreen and HUD so hopefully you will be ok.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you as I use the touchscreen and HUD every time I drive my Z4. In my opinion they are a deal breaker!
