I missed the opportunity to buy an original owner (Dr.'s car) 1968 Firebird convertible loaded with every imaginable option (wood steering, 400 ram air, cruise control) as I had just bought my white with turquoise interior one a month earlier. A co-worker was able to scoop it up. He later sold it to buy a 1970 LT1 Corvette. Love those muscle cars - keep 'em on the road!
I also had a 68 Firebird convertible, but it was only a 350 and the best mileage it ever got was 9 mpg. Sold it in the late 70s for $800. Loved that car, but I was also glad to sell it at the time.

My Z4 M40i arrived today just after closing time at the dealership. I was tracking it on the My BMW App so I knew it it would be dropped of tonight. My friend (who works there) and I waited for it and we left it in the dealership delivery room for the night. Boy is it dirty!!!

4 plate holder screw holes in the front bumper. I knew about this, but still.....

The car seriously looked like frozen orange in the dark

I agree, frozen red could be a brand new BMW color and you will be the first owner that has it! 🤪

The bumper situation is.... disappointing. I though maybe 2 holes, but's actually 4. To compound the issue, the plastic is pulled out and not flat around the holes. It's not as simple as filling the holes and using touch up paint.

Front plates are not required here in Saskatchewan.

You may wish to invest in a body shop repair.

I agree, a good body shop might be able to patch that up without it being noticeable.

Ouch! That was not how mine was delivered. It appears like the Dealership drilled into it.

Are we sure it was the dealer, it looks more like it was done at a construction site!

It looks like it had a European license plate installed previously.

No, it was the factory plate installed which has 4 screw holes. The bumper was drilled by the Vancouver dealership the car came from. They should know better than to ever drill a bumper. It's not my dealer's fault, it's the way the car came.

Options are:

- Flatten and fill the holes with painted plugs
- Cover the holes with a euro style custom plate
- Body shop repair holes, repaint just the affected area
- Body shop repair holes, repaint full bumper

The paint needs serious decontamination.... I have never seen paint this shitty looking on a new car (it's worse in person). My funds are seriously limited to remedy this stuff. The few thousand I got discount are eaten up by additional shipping and this...

Not blaming the dealership, none of this is their fault... I just knew something was going to spoil my mood.

I don't understand why anyone would drill holes prior to dealer delivery. Anyone in U.S. had their car drilled before it arrived at the dealer??

The dealership it came from is on the west coast and is high volume. I think they drill everything as part of PDI? Still, that should wait until after sale and ONLY if the customer agrees.

It's about $500 for the dealership auto body to patch the holes and respray just that front part. I guess that's just what I will have to do... I've seen videos of bumper plugs and think they are fugly.

Rob_G77 I agree, plugs are a no-go. $500 doesn't sound bad to me for the patch/respray.

I would get a quote from an independent body shop that has good reviews to compare against what the dealer's shop quoted to you.

If it is considerably less go back to the dealer and ask him to match the price. The dealer's shop may be flexible.

I concur on negotiating with the Dealership. I would also submit a complaint to BMW NA or Canada for the receiving Dealer cock-up. You may get corporate to pay for it.
