MyBMW App is not updating the mileage, status and who knows what else from the car.

I am able to honk the horn and unlock the doors, and the car responds to the app and tells it that the message was successfully sent, and I can confirm that the message was sent and the action executed. But the status still shows the doors are locked and the mileage, range and fuel remaining all stay the same.

Has anyone else had this problem? It's surprising to me that software would not work properly on a BMW...ha...ha.

Anyway, if anyone has had this problem and been able to fix it please help me out.

Solution:

You have to go into apps and highlight "Installed Apps" but not click it.
With "Installed Apps" highlighted you press the "Option" button on the console.
You then select "Update apps and data"

But that's not all folks...

Then you have to push and hold the volume button for about 20-30 second to let iDrive reboot.

Then bury a toad in a cemetery under a full moon and the app will start updating.

Thanks for the tip, will give it a try. ... now the problem is where to find a toad and a cemetery? Seems like an essential step to make it work.

I've never been able to get the app to work on my phone. It fails at log in.

What phone do you have and what operating system are you using? First things first, try deleting the app and all data for the app from your phone. Reset the phone and try installing the app again.

Pixel 5a. Android 12. I deleted the app once and may try again with the recent update to 12.
