The aftermarket top has lasted longer than either of the OEM tops, and is still going strong. YMMV

We had the car 22 years, and our daughter-in-law drives it now. Both the original top and OEM replacement developed problems with wires protruding from the beading around the rear window (I know we weren't alone with the problem. No one in the service department was surprised when I complained about it the first time. The service manager at the dealer we purchased them from twice pushed the wires back into the beading and only approved a new top when they popped out the third time.) The aftermarket top doesn't have a replaceable rear window and is still going strong after more than 10 years. It's a GAHH top.
