I'll be back... I hope!
If all goes according to plan, I will have another Z4 for spring (or a bit sooner). I don't want to jump the gun too much, but I am beyond excited if things work out....!!! I should have never traded away my 2020 Z4.

Welcome back! This car is too much fun not to get another. I won't ask what color combo you got.

Ok, well here goes..... I had a Z4 M40i and a 3 series M340i last summer. The thing about the M340i was that I didn't think it was a good highway cruiser. I also convinced myself that I didn't really need 2 vehicles. I've always loved the style of the X6 and thought that if I only had 1 vehicle, that was going to be it. So I traded both towards the X6. It was a stupid trade that cost me about $20k. I didn't think I would miss the Z4, but I was wrong. I was so upset with myself and I desperately wanted to 'undo' what I had done. That Z4 was a beautiful escape during troubling times (covid). I love driving my X6 on the highway, but I knew I was going to miss the top down experience. For a while I was planning on either an M3 or M4 convertible (trade the X6), but neither felt right. I spent many hours lamenting my poor decisions and realized the only way I was going to feel better was to get another Z4. The trouble is that I lost enough money on my trades and such that I really couldn't afford it. I only got my first Z4 because of some small inheritance I received when my father passed away 2 years ago. I have a collection of pinball machines which is my other life passion... I will sacrifice by selling a few and with that money I will get myself another Z4. Maybe it's another bad decision, I don't know. But I do know I am so excited to think of getting another Z4 and driving it this spring/summer/fall. I need to be happy, I need to have fun. Rob |

I honestly felt this way when I got rid of my 350z back in ‘06. From then all the way to 2021 is been wanting to get something to have fun again. So I feel you, brother.

I got my lease approval, found a Z4 and agreed to take it.
It should be here in a few weeks. Too soon to drive it, but I'm happy! Rob |

I also traded in my 2020 M40i in August on a new 2022 build. Partially because I wanted a different color and partially to get a longer warranty. After I traded it in, the chip shortage hit hard and I refused to let them order it until the HUD etc came back. So, I ordered it end of December.

2022 Z4 M40i
San Francisco Red Black rims, black trim, black interior Has all options except: - Garage door opener - M stitched seat belts - Digital key / charging tray The side mirrors are black, but look cerium (silver) due to reflection. Front grill and other trim is also black. I asked for a good deal to make it happen so I was given a near $4k discount off MSRP. This is literally like the only Z4 M40i we could find in Canada where the car wasn't either sold or the dealer wouldn't trade. Almost all the 2022 Z4 seem to be missing the charge tray and garage opener. At least it's not missing HUD or touchscreen because that would have been a deal breaker. There was a white one elsewhere, but the dealbreaker on that was it had a silver soft top. I don't know if they would have traded, but I absolutely did not want silver top. Hey, mss400 - saw your garage contained a '69 Firebird 400. I owned a '68 400 convertible back in the day. It was my first convertible, followed by a 1996 LT4 Corvette convertible. Loved both cars but alas they are now in someone else's garage. Of course, I'm comforted by my little Z4 convertible!
I missed the opportunity to buy an original owner (Dr.'s car) 1968 Firebird convertible loaded with every imaginable option (wood steering, 400 ram air, cruise control) as I had just bought my white with turquoise interior one a month earlier. A co-worker was able to scoop it up. He later sold it to buy a 1970 LT1 Corvette. Love those muscle cars - keep 'em on the road! |

Right! Gotta keep those old cars on the road. I've had my Firebird for 23 years and it's the cover car on this book. Not a trailer queen though. It's only a matter of time before Big Brother confiscates our gas engines, so I drive it to work every chance I get!
