Quite a few 2022 Z4 that hit dealer lots so far have been missing a few things. Namely the charging tray, digital key and the garage remote.

Has anyone ever done a retrofit on a Z4 or similar recent BMW to add this functionality? I wonder if the whole thing means just getting a new mirror or if there is more to it than that.

I will guess that the mirror needs to be wired to the can system and coded. I did this "mod" on my '15 F55 Cooper S

I’m pretty sure the charging tray and digital key are gone for good. They are no longer listed as features or options on the BMW site. I remember reading something that indicated that they had problems with the charging tray and just decided to drop it.

I heard that about the tray and the key, but garage door opener? I'll be mad if my car comes in without that. Anyone in the U.S. see any cars coming in without it?

I don't know about the US, but in Canada the garage opener has to be ordered separately because it is not a part of any package.

It's a $300 Cdn option.

I installed a module to open by phone. So to open my gate (same principle as for the garage) i just call this system. Possible to hold the bmw/siri button on the steering wheel, just ask Siri

Only recognized callers can open the gate.

i asked my dealer about this a year ago, they told me its not possible to build it in the garagedoor opener afterwards.
