One of the features is that they are easily removable and swapped out. Someone was probably demonstrating this capability.

This is competing with the Wrangler which basically has an interior out of one of these:

Plus a headline feature of the Bronco's interior is its ability to be washed with a hose, so feel and refinement was not a priority.

It will be huge, my local dealer said there pre-order list is incredibly long. The sales should be so big that dealers have requested that Ford start giving Bronco's their own store!

Sadly these were only available to look and sit in, no driving. They plan on reaching customers by the Summer/Q4 2021. Hopefully I should be able to get behind the wheel of one then!

I have one on order and should have it by the late fall I expect. I'll post my review, which I'm sure will not be as eloquent as stein_325i, but I'll take a shot.

JESM.
To be precise, that is the fender flare, which is designed to be removable without the use of tools. It's designed that way to allow quick removal for trail rides to allow for more body clearance on tight trails.

But also, all all four metal fenders are relatively easily removed with simple hand tools for the purposes of modification to the body for specific uses. Ford intends to have vast aftermarket support of the Bronco for individual modifications that suit the owner's tastes.

Can't wait, these cars are awesome, owners will love them, I hope some of them will actually take it off road too!

Those of us who have reviewed the near-production versions being shown by Ford in its dealer event campaign believe the Bronco to be the quality vehicle they are expecting.

I'm trying to buy a vehicle now that has under 200,000 miles on it by the time I retire mid-decade.

The Bronco will have garage queen duty from whenever I get it this year until I hang up the cleats. It really is the only vehicle on the market that I have any interest in. The E-Stang I really like too, except for the stupid screen.

I have to be honest, I'm tired of BMW's pretentious crap from all the soccer parents that lease them to impress the neighbors. Yeah, it's been that way with BMW for 20 years now, but BMW used to offer an unpretentious 3-Series with a manual transmission and sport package, so I'd put up with the pretentiousness and the MSRPs. But they brought the 3-Series into the pretentious fold with the G20, and they effed up with the F30 and made that one a Buick. And the M 3-Series got uber-pretentious years ago too when the E46 version came out (E37/E85/86 excluded of course ) . I'm old skool; wrench on it on the weekends and drive it during the week.

Well, really it's just the floors if you get the Black Diamond or Badlands. And low pressure water at that.

It's not aimed at the dilettante segment.

Exactly. If you want a luxurious drive to the fox hunt in the Scottish Highlands go buy a new Defender. If you want to go 4-wheeling with your buddies and drop your Miller High Life empty in the rear passenger footwell and clean up the skanky beer a week later, Ford has your off-road vehicle

The reality is that's the segment that will purchase most of them. Most Jeeps never see off road nor will these.

And the reality is most people who buy BMW M-cars don't track them, nor can drive them anywhere near the car's limits. From the Bronco forums I'm on, most of the enthusiasts are going to off-road their Broncos. Most people don't have the resources to ball-up their $50K vehicle, whether it's tracking at Laguna Seca, or crawling Moab.

So I'm not sure why it matters as a discussion point.

Totally agree. I made an observation about the ultra cheap looking plastic and regardless of the intentions of the vehicle that's some low rent plastic. Excuses don't need to be made.

When you see it in person, the Bronco interior is pretty nice. Way better than my 1995 Jeep YJ (last of the square headlights) - but it cost $12,500 back in 1995.

I think Ford was trying to achieve a painted metal finish look to the dash panel in ode to the original 1966 Bronco, and I think they succeeded. It looks and feels better in real life than the pics. Safety regs probably prevent using metal for the dash panel as I bet the air bag sits behind it. The marine-grade vinyl seats are very nice and comfortable.

But it's a modern truck in 2021 that has a real manual transmission with a real foot-operated clutch. Oh and the doors and top are easily removable.
Imagine that! The cost of the machine is in the drivetrain and suspension.
