Either way I got in early enough that it's not a big gamble....but coukd be a huge payoff.

It looked interesting so I put in $1,500 for fun at $0.67/share. At one point at jumped to $0.80 which was 19-20% gain. Figured there isn’t much risk in losing it so we’ll see how it plays out. Compared that to Genius Brands which I didn’t have a good feeling about so passed on it last week. Good thing too because it dropped by 50%. I feel better about it below $2/share.

My Gramps started at Esso in ~1916. Probably never sold a share, gave 1/2 to my mom, who rode it through the '90s & '00s, when XOM outperformed almost everything. When I got my 1/3 of that, I sold on ethics. Right on time!
Craps, with a minor in luck, but my Gramps & mom did have some brains. If not for them, I wouldn't be able to be so, "que sera sera" with my investing today!

I have not. I feel like it might be lifestyle kind of job. You only work 6 hours or so, be at home, be your own boss, whatever money you make you can live on, etc. as for someone who is making hundreds of thousands from stock trading and sustaining it year after year, definitely not. I think sometimes we get lucky with a few picks but if there’s someone with a way to pick winners all the time, they wouldn’t want to share it with the world.

It's a very difficult business.

According to Forbes:

I would never attempt day trading as a source of income. Full disclosure, I put $10k in. TDA account March 31st. By April 10th I had lost $3k. Started ignoring my gut and doing research and my current balance is $14,700. I will never add another dime to this account. I plan to pull all but $10k at the end of the month regardless of the balance on June 30th. It is fun but similar to gambling. The covid thing makes it easier due to all the new penny flippers in the game. I spread my positions out over 10 so I can keep my risk a bit lower. It's a waiting game for sure. If I lose everything at this point I will be ok with it but I would bet I would bale out if I dropped to a $5k balance.

Most of my success is from Rmtt's advice.

This is a Covid "play". Specifically antibodies testing. There were very large scale purchases made today. I'm talking like blocks of 50K shares at a time. This isn't normal!

You should take your initial investment out as soon as you are able. What you have left you can build on that.

Now here is my thing. I only have 4-5 stocks in play at one time. I t allows you to keep up with them easier....and you have more volume in them than having 10 or more stocks....so when they "hit" you gain more.

When you build up a significant amount of money in the account...that's when you can make a lot of money. You can enter positions that allow you to make $1,000's off of a .10-.20 cent swing. That is what my friend does. He makes a few of these types of trades a day...and he could walk away that day and not go back until tomorrow.

I'm not a day trader...I like to call myself a momentum trader. I have a scanner that the friend I mentioned above taught me how to use. I am still "tweaking" it. But if something meets my criteria....I then look to see what is going on. I want to know early so I have time to do any research I want.

Give me something that I can hear about, study, enter, and exit in 3-4 weeks. That is the perfect setup. It's more investing Short Term than day trading.

To day trade, you have to be in front of your screen constantly. And you have to have a lot of money as you will win big and lose big.

I would not day trade as a living like my friend does although he makes more money than I do. Most people who try it fail because they let emotions get involved.

This is my first year in. I have dabbled before...and my friend and I have talked "shop" about it a lot. He always said I would do good at it. I just never cared for it or the effort it may take. With luck I might make as much with this as I do my day job.

Would I quit my job....no! I actually like my job. I could not day trade for a living because I like getting up and being away from my computer. WIll I take the extra cash coming from it....yes.
