Red Car Icon in HUD?
What does it mean if a big red car icon shows in the HUD? I've seen this twice on my Z4 and am thinking maybe it's some kind of radar glitch?

Yes, I have had the red car warning flash up on the HUD a couple of times. The radar sees a possible collision and gives you a warning that you need to heed or the car starts braking for you. 😃

It happened to me a few times but I didn't Experience the car braking for me. I guess brakes will be applied when you are close to having an accident and rear ending another vehicle.

You can decrease the sensitivity, ever since I went to medium setting I havent seen the red car. Its under 'front collision mitigation' in one of the car settings menus.

I noticed a couple times the radar saw parked cars that I was passing on a bend. I guess the radar must have thought I was heading for the parked cars. That’s my theory anyway.

Correct. Happens occasionally. Best to set on medium or less to avoid it being triggered too often.
