Remote start in IDrive7

I love my Z4 so much, I'm looking at trading in my Golf R for a BMW SUV for all season driving. I like how functional and easy the controls are to use in my Z4 plus the BMW connected app features. I like the engine and ZF transmission too. BUT, BMW has done one thing that puts a damper on that. The connected app cannot be used to start the vehicle for X3 and X4 models - even though they have iDrive7 and visually seem to have every other feature the Z4 has.

On a side note, I test drove a Jeep Cherokee SRT today. It also has the ZF transmission which is one reason I looked at it. But, it has an absolutely horrible spedo dial you can barely read (Canadian KM version) and very laggy customization controls. Even the transmission indicator lags behind where you put the lever. Comfy seats and good power, but I think the gas mileage would get to me after a while, if the terrible gauges don't first. At least it has remote start in their u-control app. I think that's what it's called.

If anyone still hates the IDrive7 gauge cluster, there' far worse out there and I found it.
