Romer,
Nice trade. I also sold a 2011 E89 and got a G29. It is awesome. I'm up the road a bit in Boulder. ENJOY!

It had 50K miles on it. The Struts were expensive and the roof harness had to be replaced. This car is so much nicer, not just to ride but the features, electronics, etc
I commented that Apple car play was a subscription after a year and the dealer told me he heard they were going to scrap the yearly cost. We will see how that goes Still figuring things out. In the glove box there is a box of bolts that look like they are for the tires based on the sheet of paper. I havent taken the time to figure out when you use those though. Tips appreciated Also, my biggest question I asked and never really got an answer is how does the G29 compare getting in and out of to the E89 The answer is easier and I am guessing its due to the soft top. The hard top is curbed more near the doors leaving less head room. Ducking my head is no longer required getting in and out. Another plus! Only have 64 miles on it so far. Havent decided if the lock unlock when I get close to it is irritating or will be useful. So far in the garage it has been irritating, but I will wait and see

Lol yeah if you’re walking around doing stuff in the garage leave the key in the house or put down somewhere in the garage...else it will just go nuts on you.
I had an ‘09 35i, so 300/300 hp/tq vs this sDrive30i’s power. Somewhat of a step down in power but took a nice long drive yesterday on some country roads...still in break-in period, but this car has plenty of sport to it. |

Apple Car Play doesn’t need to be renewed anymore. And we may get Android Auto in fall.
I have the Auto Unlock, but not the auto lock, enabled. It works quite well. I am not sure I trust the auto lock. You will want to check which iDrive software version you have and get the dealer to update it while you have their attention. Last edited by CeEl; 05-10-2020 at 05:32 PM.. Reason: Removed error |

I basically drive two vehicles. A BMW Z4 and a Toyota Landcruiser
I have had the Landcruiser from the 40 series in 1979 to the 80 series, then 100 series and now have a 200 series. This to me is the best Landcruiser ever built and goes wherever I take it, plus all the creature comforts like a small fridge in the console between the driver and passenger seats. I also upgraded the infotainment system to a tesla style Android head unit. In addition, I have a 1973 FJ40 Landcruiser I restored I bought my first Z4 in 2007 E85. It was fun, but a pretty basic interior. Picture is next to my 80 series I bought a 2009 Z4 E89 in 2011. I wanted the hard top and it had better features. This is pictured next to my 100 series Landcruiser I wanted the Nav and infotainment system so I swapped the 2009 for a 2011. Much better infotainment center, but basically the same as the 2009 other than that. I think the heater/AC controls were the same all the way back to my E85. This 2019 is leaps and bounds in technology and is the best Z4 yet. The other Z4s were just fun cars to drive. I am much more excited about this one than the previous ones I am a very fortunate man

As mentioned no yearly charge for carplay any more, which I am glad since I dont have enhanced bluetooth which means no texts with an iPhone without carplay.
If you go into the connected drive website and look when the carplay expires you can see, mine says: 'This service has been subscribed to your BMW "WWxxxxx" until 01/10/2040 It can be extended once you are within 3 months of service expiration.' 20 years is close enough to forever I guess |

Been driving it for a week and so much better than the E89
With a small rain storm the black E89 looked dirty. I have been through two rain storms this week and you have to look real close to notice. I was worried the 4cyl wouldnt have enough power. I am amazed at what it can do and it is more than enough for me. I quickly speed up to 80 from the on ramp and have not wished I had more power even when I see what it can do. I do understand wanting more power and the M4.0i I think a big part of what model depends on what you do with it. I am not a track person and have no desire to take it to the track. I just want a sport commuter convertible for city driving with plenty of power for anything I need to do on the highway. It also doesnt hurt it gets 30MPG in contrast to the 13MPG I get on my Landcruiser. The only thing I don't like is the cupholder. Mostly just a place to put my coffee mug driving to and from work. I ordered one of the Ultimate cup holders for the E89 and I will see if that works, may need some modification. For that, I don't care about easy access while driving, just a place to put it. I will post up after I get it Opening just the right side panel isnt bad, I would just rather have them both down when driving and when I have a passenger.

6 weeks and 1200 miles its an awesome vehicle. Very happy with it
I added a cup holder (other thread) so no more things I don't like. Not crazy about the auto start feature (another thread), but that can be disabled My last Z4 was black and it looked dirty all the time, after a rain storm it really needed a bath I have only washed the white one once. It's rained several days here and it still looks clean unless I get real close We get Satellite Radio free here for a year with a new purchase and frankly I keep going back to my own music collection Having owned an E85 and two E89's I really am impressed with the progression of the design. This one is far superior in every way

Do you find a sound quality difference between the two also? I’ve only used Bluetooth music so far (haven’t uploaded anything to the HDD yet!) and in previous cars have always heard a changed quality when doing so which led me to use the USB wired connection in my f30 (which then sounded awesome! )

I load my music on the hard drive and sound quality is excellent. It seems better than the Sat Radio
