For now. When you're milking the "build it and they will come" customer base, you ALWAYS suck in additional sales. Duh.

so I moved up from the X3 to X6 because the X3 interior was so dated, a new gen and M version could change all that, especially in the leather seat department! and the price of a X3M should be right about the same as the MSRP on my X6 lease. Not sure my wife would be okay with a M version of her daily driver though, maybe I will just tell her its the M Sport like we always get

I am guessing the X3M and X4M will use the F80 engine. I can't imagine they would have less power otherwise what is the point since there is a M40i with 355hp

Now that Bmw have money for a F97 where is the F81? I find it strange that Mercedes, Audi/VW and Volvo is investing on wagon when Bmw is just throwing the towel.

Me too - been driving a Q5 3.0T as a daily for about 3 years.

Been thinking about the next gen SQ5 b/c I couldn't swing the $100k+ for an X5M. Since I'm already used to the size, the X3M would be great!

BMW is using the F9x chassis code for G generation M vehicles for some reason. I suppose it is because that's what succeeds the current F8x range in numerical order. However, with the addition of the two new smaller M SUVs, there won't be enough numbers in the F9x range.

The next M5 sedan, for example, is F90. Presumably the M6 models will follow closely in succession. Maybe it'll go something like this:

F90 M5 sedan
F9x M5 touring?
F9x M5 Gran Turismo?

F9x M6 coupe
F9x M6 convertible
F9x M6 Gran Coupe

F97 X3 M
F98 X4 M

Gxx M3 sedan
Gxx M4 coupe
Gxx M4 convertible
Gxx M4 Gran Coupe?

Gxx X5 M
Gxx X6 M

M2 is a wild card since if it moves to UKL it may not use a Gxx code but instead retain an F5x code as other UKL passenger cars have.
Previous M5 touring failed miserably so BMW said they won't make it again (when they were asked if there will be one for F10).

Therefore I don't think they will make it for this new generation either, then again BMW nowadays you never know.....they have known to say one thing but do another.

When can we expect to see the X2? Sometime this calendar year? I think that's going to be an awesome little car...

The M5 Touring did not fail it was only available in certain markets.
I still have mine in Interlagos Blue. I know of one F11 M5 Touring built for somebody internally.

Yep...

Crossovers are the new cars for this generation. Nice profit generators too.

Porsche and everyone else is slicing the schnitzel pretty thin these days.

Scott26, we must have pictures of this unicorn-grade F11 M5 Wagon or... it really didn't happen.

As a UK F80 owner I'm super excited about the X3M

Needs merino leather and special (X5M) seats, Dakota leather like the M2 will NOT cut it in this car.

Its a Q-Car meaning it uses the body of the M550d Touring but the engine and drivetrain from the M5. Its inconspicuous. So you need to know what you are looking for. But that was the idea.

I don't understand why BMW won't build a M5 wagon, or better yet M3 wagon! Surely the development cost is tiny given most of the hardware is already there. I would buy one in an instant!

I would buy that in a heartbeat. I love the F31 wagon.
