I only used it -gently - if there was a particularly dirty spot that needed some massaging. Even then, I generally used it over the whole top, to prevent any inconsistencies in the surface. Car is garaged, so doesn’t get too exposed, though.

Just wanted to share my experience with top protection. I used Chemical guys convertible top protection then about a week later I put Adams advanced graphene spray coating. The water just beads and doesn’t seem to be absorbing into the fabric much.
I also use a horsehair brush, lint roller, and rinse with water (when washing the car) to keep it looking clean. I’ve never used soap on it so far |

I use Duct tape... Works much better than lint rollers and is cost-effective

For some reason, I always get a lot of the little puffy things like what you get from dandelions on the roof of my car, when it is parked in my garage. I don't know why, there are never any dandelions in my yard. So a lint roller comes in real handy.

I have a white indoor/outdoor cat and when I had the S30 if I forgot to cover the car he would sit on the roof and leave mountains of white hairs. A heavy duty lint roller did the trick.
I don't leave my car uncovered anymore. |
