Land In Jamaica

I have had land in Jamaica in my family for over 50 years and nothing has been done with it.

I just wanted to put it out there in the universe that if anyone is interested please let me know.

Also looking for suggestions of what would be an affordable use or investment I could do with this land.

9 Acres in Boscobel are mine which is apart of a grand total of 81 Acres of land Called Murray Hill. Located near Boscobel International Airport and Resort as well as being 15 minutes from Ochos Rios.

That sounds like a nice touch.

I have no experience in owning land so I'm no help but hope you can use it to your benefit!

You THINK it's empty, but I have it on good authority that there are 17 shanty-shacks with the corrugated metal that blew up during the last hurricane. And about 12 feet of the first row of a block wall, with another 17 feet of rebar stuck in the ground.

No land survey or appraisal of yet. Also need a geological study I believe.

These things are not so cheap I imagine.

Is there a Marijuana farm on this land? If so... your buyer interest level will surely rise.

In all honesty marijuana is now primarily legal in Jamaica and I was trying to understand the ramifications about growing and importing for medical use in the USA and other countries that are legal.

Tariffs, taxes, and blockades have me worried as well as protecting the product from theft ect. I feel there is a market emerging here.

pretty sure you cant since it is still illegal according to the feds, and you would have to cross not only the US border, but also states that it is still illegal.

Depending on what you'd like to do with it, I might have folks interested in the property. 8 acre's is fairly well sized for a Hotel or commercial real estate operation.

In terms of using the land itself, you can certainly grow sugar, banana's, coconuts, and other assundrious things there, but 8 acre's won't be enough to make any real cash on.

If you wanted to go that route, i'd lease the land to a local grower instead of trying to do anything yourself.

I would rather go the Hotel route. If you know someone interested let them know. It has been hard to find people with capital and experience in this kind of venture.

Edit: Not to mention there is a total of 81 acres available to the right buyer or developer.

He'll have to sell that to make it happen. Unless he's a commercial developer, funding that type of project takes a couple decades worth of experience and the willingness to lose ones hair in the process.

But as an asset, if you can establish that the area has infastructure to build something tourists will use, you can make a case that the land has sufficient value to someone else, who wil build on it.
