Not that it happen to me, but I just read this and was shocked it could ruin a car's finish. I had no idea.

Ever spray bug spray or suntan lotion in a parking lot next to your car when you got to a beach / lake / park / rec center? Ever spray your kids down when you're dropping them off for their soccer game on Saturday morning? Etc. If you're upwind of the car, that stuff moves in the lightest of breezes.

I don't think anyone is stupid enough to spray it on their car. But likely people aren't thinking to stay far away from the car when spraying it on themselves.

hasnt anyone ever golfed after using a high DEET product? Melts your grips like nothing.

DEET is a pretty nasty chemical. Maybe not unavoidable but, at the very least, stay clear of the high DEET products (deep woods off, etc)

A bottle of Deep Woods Off opened up in my glove box years ago and it completely melted the handle of my Swiss Army knife. Lesson learned. Now I carry the individually packed wipes in the car.
