There's not much info on the website. Can you confirm this is a plug and play on the G29 s30i and/or m40i?

You can just unplug the plug for the valve controller to keep it open 100% for free. Just reach under the car on the right side, unplug it and tuck it away. What I ended up doing was I placed electrical tape over the plug and lightly tucked it back into the female connector just enough for it to hold in place. I then got some shrink tubing and heated it up around the plug to ensure it stays in there until I remove the shrink tube.

Leib has a valve controller that works, also takes care of opf delete errors, and a few other option,I had it on my car for a few years.
The new tuner had some trouble with it when i switched to bootmod3 and he ended up pulling it out.
but the tune has it programmed always open ,so it's not a big loss :-)

Yea this is another solution but you lose the ability of now closing the valves, especially when adding downpipes, midipes, etc

Got it, thanks. It looks like your kit includes two motors but I believe the G29 uses only one. Can you confirm?

Yes 2 motors are included , in the case you get an aftermarket exhaust system you’ll have a the two necessary motors for them.

I added a downpipe to my vehicle with it still open and its fine. The whole point of keeping it open 100% of the time is for the sound which is what my method provides at no cost. I mean if you want to spend 2-500 on a valve controller then thats all you lol.

Another way is to run the car in Sport till warmed up. Leave the car running & check to see that the valve is open.

Pull 7.5amp fuse in slot 203 (4th down in far left position of fuse rack) while the car is running. Valve will stay open till the fuse is replaced.

Fuse rack is behind the cover on the right side trunk lining.

You’ll get a shadow code that might or might not show up when you Do a scan, but it won’t trigger any CEL or have any effect on the car in general

Yeah beat me to it. Have not used a scanner to look for a code. Would replace the fuse a few days before any service.

Also a good plan is to put the fuse in every few month for a week to prevent the valve from freezing open. Some have gotten stuck so its something to think about. One was reported on a BMW forum to be replaced under warranty on an X3.

Not a bad idea , there are many different option go around when it comes to the valves, it comes down to personal preference and obviously the cost of the product, some guys don’t mind unplugging it and going the route you mentioned and some still want the function of opening and closing. The g80 guys from
What I can tell are using the valve controllers in many cases pairs up with aftermarket exhausts, Midpipe, downpipes etc .

Other than sound, does it offer any other benefits? I am hearing impaired, so sounds of any kind are not a priority.

Not a thing. Just a nice noise to tickle my hearing aids.

Agree, a lot of the guys are doing things to make what some believe is a better G8xC sound. Might try the fuse hack.

1. To see if it works

2. To see if my wife complains.

If it sounds good & the wife is not happy would go electronic.
