Military rebates after new year

What are the chances the military rebate will stay the same, go up, or disappear after Jan 1st? My build has not started yet, I was told I'll get the rebate that exists ( or not) at the time of delivery of car to me.

When I ordered my car, I was able to lock in the rates/incentives offered at the time of the order. Also was given the option that if they changed for the better when the car came in, I could go that route instead. I thought that was standard policy (same thing applied to my wife's car).

Unfortunately, I was at the mercy of whatever the incentives were at the time of delivery, not at the time of order. At the same time... mine went up from 1000 to 1500, so that's a nice thing too. It's a toss.

That’s weird. I wonder if that’s a dealer thing than? Was not the case on my Z4 or my wife’s X3.

The way it worked for Tony is my understanding of how its was supposed to work. But since the all out cash grab by bmw and the dealers over the past couple of years, it seems to be catch as catch can.

BMW pulled the penfed rebate while my m440cv was in production so i walked when CS told me to pound sand.

I wonder if the dealer/sales person just doesn’t know how it works, or isn’t being honest. I just got my Z4 in May (and wife’s X3 in February), so wasn’t that long ago. I’d double check.

Did you get military discount for both?

Was not in the military, so did not. But my wife did get the loyalty credit and purchase cash credit they were offering in December (when she ordered) as well as a lower APR versus what was valuable in February when she took delivery.

I ordered my car in January and took delivery in May. By then, the APR they were offering had gone up quite a bit and I was also able to keep the one that was offered when I ordered.

I’m not sure why they’d treat the military incentive different than a loyalty or purchase/lease credit by maybe they do. In looking at the brokers website whom I used for my car, it appears to me they don’t, but I’d have to reach out to confirm.

Military rebates vary by model.

So do all the other incentives. The issue here is whether you get the incentive available when you place the order or when you take delivery.

Wouldn’t it be the same as the interest rate which gets locked in?

Can't speak for all dealers, but the incentive gets applied at the time of delivery, not at the time of the order. Which sucks cause there's always a chance that the incentive won't be available at the time of delivery, but I've also never had that experience so far. In my case, the incentive was actually better than at the time of the order.

So maybe the military incentive is different than all the other incentives. As mentioned, this was not the case on both our orders last year.

Yeah for me it was when I took delivery, not what was available at the time of the order.

Here is what is current, but you'll also have to go to ID.me for any sort of military offering.

or perhaps this link:

https://www.bmwusa.com/special-offer...incentive.html

It's currently $2500, but must take retail delivery January 3, 2024 - January 31, 2024.

Oh wow that's pretty high. Who actually ponies up the money this discount costs?

BMWNA eats the cost of the incentives. It basically reduces the cost the dealer pays so the dealer still gets his profit.

Same thing with the BMW CCA rebates. The CCA processes the rebate, but the rebate itself is paid by BMWNA.

The incentive system works very similar to manufacturer's coupons at your local grocer.

I just picked up a new M40i and my Military rebate was $2500. That's $2000 more than last year. And this was with BMW Financing.
