I have no idea but I've been told rotaries can be made into monsters quite easily. Does he have any mods?

Let us know what sort of times you pull on the track... Your mod list is endless and your car looks tough. I got time for it.

If its stock and running well, it should be interesting but i think the 135 can take it. If it is single turbo then the 135 will lose. The 7 is lighter and built for handling, its awesome for autox and road courses.

I changed the muffler and the air filter on my 93 R1. These simple swaps added 60hp to the 255 it came with. Car weighed 2700lbs.It was probably a high 12 second car. Handled great.

I actually worked for a company that specialized in rx7's. Stock for stock, the 135i should pull on the rx7, but my friend and I have raced when i was in my Boxster S, and he pulled like crazy on me. He was all bolt-ons with stock twins making 335whp, and he just had his motor race ported and non sequential turbo mod done.

He's being tuned right now and will be making 380-400whp with the stock twins, so if your neighbor is modded anywhere close to that much, he'll kick the crap out of you.

I'll race him in the next 2 weeks, so it should be interesting...I have JB3, RR intake, cdv mod and SSK. I'll tell you how it goes...

Even if the 7 is at 400whp and the 135i with JB3 is at 400whp, the 7 is still much lighter so my bet is on the 7...but im biased

How did it go?

Having owned both cars, I would be surprised if the 135 was able to hang with the RX. The RX's gearing and, if still sequentially turbo'd, broad power band should give it the edge.

And Gotham racing didn't shut down to my knowledge. They moved to a new, much nicer shop 2 years ago. And My knowledge is wrong. Gotham is no longer in business. Steve started a new company called KanTuning (www.kantuning.com) to handle his tuning business.
Steve is one of the best tuners in the US and one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.

i've met Cam and crew when they brought their Supercharge'd RX-8 to Sevenstock back in 2004 and then started selling kits a few years later. Very cool guys.

And Russo, I was wondering about the FD in your sig. Looks like it's in pretty good shape. I've always wanted to own one with Apexi RX-6 twins.. but I don't really have the cash to own 3 sports cars, lol.

^^^Supercharged RX-8??? Is it anymore efficient? I had an 06 RX-8 for about 4months. I'd get 17mpg on average just putting around.

My 8 is NA and i get 20-21 mpg most of the times.
Guys who do intake and high flo cat usually increase their MPG by a bit, but if you buy a cobb access port and have the NA tune installed, you can get a pretty good improvement in mpg.

I have a few friends with turbos who actually get better MPG than I do.. The ignition system on the RX-8 sucks. The coils fail because they have a terrible ground and of course the spark plugs foul because we burn oil.

As far as the SC kits getting better gas mileage goes, it all depends on the tuning and the parts included.

Oh, and Hymee's SC kit for the 8 just went on sale this week.
I saw this kit before it was finalized at sevenstock 2 years ago. Hymee is an aussie so that's a big deal to have him come over with this thing just to show it at the show.
Check it out:

And that's not Hymee in the pic, that's one of the guys from fluid motorsports who is selling the kit in the states ($7450, IE, not cheap)
