'08 Supra - what do you think?
Personally, I like it! I see alot of people on the Bimmer boards complain that all the Japanese cars look alike, particularly with the headlights & tail lights. At first I disagreed, but as time went on I started to feel the same way. Well, looking at the pics of the upcoming Supra, I don't think it's cookie cutter at all (aside from being a bit of a throwback to the last Supra). I was considering getting a new car this year (including an e90 or e92), but after I saw this I was glad I held off, and decided to wait and see if it does indeed surface next year.
Have a look at these articles (the top one being from the November Road & Track). Not that it will change my opinion any, but what do you guys think? Hot or not? http://www.toyotalife.com/misc/2008supra_rt_s.jpg http://www.2008toyotasupra.net/still...review-big.jpg |

The last generation Supra was a work of art. That car was so ahead of its time in terms of style that when you see it on the road today it still looks amazing.
I'm looking forward to the new Supra. I hope they do it justice, and it sounds like they plan to. I don't really see it as any competitor to any BMW though. It's more of a 350Z type competitor and I don't think that's the same target market as BMW. |

I like the sides and the hood, but the headlights and that grille make it look like a cartoon smiley face. Outstanding price, if accurate.

And in a way it is competition, since I'm considering it as an alternative to he e92. Much more so than I am a 350z, which doesn't interest me that much right now (who knows if it will in '08). |

If Toyota make the car just like that, that will be crazy.
That would be PMF (Poor Man Ferrarri)

Overall, that depiction doesn't look bad, but it's not distinctive enough to get me excited about the styling. To be honest, I like the last generation styling better. I wouldn't bank my money on this particular pre-release rendition. The front end looks boring IMO and could have been designed over ten years ago. It's also very unlike Toyota not to include air scoops or fog lights toward the bottom.
