oh, the upside down outlet is to let people know that outlet is on a switch
Is the outlet flip a standard of some sorts? I've never seen that before, but damn if it doesn't make sense!

My old man used to do that in his workshop. He said that if a plug wasn't 100% seated and a piece of metal went flying and slid down the wall, he wanted to be sure that it landed on the ground pin and then shorted hot/neutral to ground as it slid down further. If I recall correctly, he said that he picked up the idea from a hospital electrician many years ago.....

Around me, builders put a small dot on the outlet to indicate which is tied to a switch. Not too big to be distracting but easy to find if you are looking.

Is that an actual "thing?" I've encountered a few mysteriously switched outlets in my past 3 houses and it's always pretty much gone like this:

Step 1 - Plug something into outlet and discover it doesn't work
Step 2 - Plug the device into the other 1/2 of the outlet (Like that'll make a difference)
Step 3 - Shake the device you plugged in
Step 4 - Curse
Step 5 - Plug the device into a different outlet to prove it works
Step 6 - Return to the "broken" outlet and try both plugs again with the known good device
Step 7 - Curse
Step 8 - Walk away bewildered
Step 9 - Remember that weird wall switch you found last summer that didnt do anything
Step 10 - Discover the outlet is switched. Tell your wife you've solved the mystery of the switch that does nothing like you're some kind of genius.

Finally got around to getting the motor dropped into my Datsun. Still gotta clean em up and trim some edges. Not the best looking mounts but they are growing on me since this will be kind of a rat (Ratsun) build. Way overkill lol.

Also, dont judge my welds!

Welded up a heavy shop table, took longer than expected to get everything squared and the table top to be relatively flat. Added two 4x3" square tubes under the table so a fork lift can grab it, this thing has to be over 1,500 lbs!

Mother inlaw (Macedonian) made about 500 (no joke) of these for our wedding day...been in love with them ever since. In my freezer right now I have about 50 of them, but with them living about 5mins away from us...fresh is always better .

3D Printed GoPro Visor mount

Been wanting a GoPro Visor mount for a bit...so I made one...WIP. Slides in and locks into place. Need to beef up where it slides onto the visor; snapped it when pressing it into place. Near the glass is more solid than closest to the driver.

Edit: This should be better (rendering image)

Do you FedEx? I'd love some for breakfast tomorrow. Just slap an "Organ Transplant" on the cooler and I'll get it just in time.

Love it, thanks! Making up a batch this weekend seeing as we will be snowed in by tomorrow morning. Seems like a great way to have some fun during a little winter snowstorm.
