Speed Bumps

For those of you with the M40i, do you have any issues going over speed bumps? It seems that speed bumps are getting taller and taller and cars are getting lower and lower.

TIA.

There are speed bumps on many of the local streets near me in Hollywood Florida. I never go above 20 mph with my M40i as the impact is too hard.

PS, for some reason they have signage here calling them "Speed Humps".

Even in comfort some speed bumps can rattle you teeth if you don't hit them square. Have never had a bottoming issue.

So bottoming out and scraping bottom isn’t an issue?

I haven’t had an issue in mine. There is quite a bit of clearance. Even some of the aggressive pads they have on some of our roads have not been an issue ( mind you I really have to drive really slowly over those) Oh I don’t have an M40 mine is a 20i

I've had no issues with speed bumps, though I've had to drive into some steep driveway entrances on an angle. Fortunately, like other BMWs, the Z4 has hard rubber flaps in front of the front wheel wells; assuming you're going slow, you'll have some time to back off if you hear them scrape before the bumper hits.

Haven't had issues with speed bumps, however there is a culvert (upside down speed bump?) on my way to campus which is a bit problematic.

I hate those, especially when it is raining as you really can't see them. At least in my area with a speed bump there is usually a sign on the road that will give you a little advance warning to slow down.

I am still trying to figure out why Hollywood, FL calls them Speed Humps? I have never seen this description anywhere else.

Think these might be the big wide ones? We have some here that are 3/4 feet across.
