I would never expect her to pay. I may be old school, but I figure if I invite you out to dinner, I expect to pay. People have forgotten the older values. You invite someone, you pay. End of story.

Further, one of my fav sports, and this is generally the action of the distaff is to observe them at lunch at a generally expensive restaurant divvy up the bill when it comes. Most of the time these ladies are married to men of means but you'd think they had saved up for 2 years for this lunch. They go on for 10 or 15 minutes about who had the extra shrimp cocktail and why is this damn vodka tonic on my bill, I only drink Bloody Mary's.

It happens time and time again. Generally with the same ones. It's pathetic.

Like you, with my friends, someone picks up the whole thing and a different person gets it next time. We've been friends for 45+ years. It all comes out in the wash.

The more I spend time on dating apps or dating in the general world... the more I realized the world has gone to shit... and rapidly... years of feminist policies, career over family and mass communication w the ability of apps, social media etc... has ruined what was once great.

No. I wasn’t sure which way to go after stepping off the elevator and this gorgeous man who was talking with someone else in the elevator lobby asked if I needed guidance. After telling me which way to go, all I could think of to say was thank you.

2 or 3 weeks later, however long it’s been since then I see him on the dating app. Shooting my shot means I hit the “Like” button on his profile

Curious as well. I'm confused on which prince charming is prince charming. I feel like I'm in an early 80's action sitcom, where the good guy has a twin and no one can tell who is who. I'm more curious in next weeks episode, to find out who is who and see their triplet twin comes around.

That.....isn't shooting your shot. But I suppose if the app only lets you hit like and not actually send any messages, then its the best you could do, since you didn't see him in person.

K.....wait, wait, wait a minute here......are we seriously living in a time when we see someone we are interested in.....as in a live interaction with said individual, as in actually received in person instructions as to where a person needed to be; yet rather than talk to them.....we initiated our interest by hitting a like button on an app.......when the person was right there???

I have lost all faith in our species. At this rate, the only people in the future that will have babies, will be those who aren't afraid to talk to the person that they want to touch them.....unless somehow there ends up being an app for that too.
