Buy a manual Corolla, Civic, or Mazda.
It'll cost you what a video game system would, and you'll never look back.

Yes, as Onesie put it, "you'll never look back."

If you like driving at all you owe it to yourself to own a manual at least once in your life. The driver - car connection is much better. You have a greater sense of control over your car, plus it's just a lot of fun.

Don't know what you're daily driving and traffic situation are like (noticed you live in NY), But if necessary make it a second or third car that maybe you only drive on the weekends if that would work for you.

It'll make you loving driving (again).

And should you do the inevitable stupid thing driving it like a buffoon, 98% of repairs can easily be done in the driveway.

I will say, having a manual for a fun car and not a daily makes it more fun also. Sitting in traffic got pretty annoying for day to day life.

Traffic or not, I still prefer the MT.

Oh for sure, but physically can be a bit daunting depending on how long you're in traffic (daily) and if the clutch requires 100+ ft/lb on every depress. Thus why it's nice being able to pick AT or MT any given day.

One thing I hate about the Fall is people burning fucking leaves everywhere and the stench of smoke lasts for days and worst of all, soaks into your clothes!

It should be illegal!

Well I sure as hell thought so. Here are the "exceptions" for the State of Georgia as per the Environmental Protection Division. I'm looking at this scratching my head with a WTF feeling.

13 Legal Burn Types
Open burning in Georgia is prohibited with the exception of 13 types of legal burn activities: (1) reduction of leaves on premises, (2) agricultural procedures for production or harvesting of crops (if land tract is 5 acres or less), (3) burning vegetative material for agricultural operations (if land tract is greater than 5 acres), (4) prescribed burning, (5) recreational purposes and cooking, (6) fire-fighting training, (7) acquired structure burns, (8) vegetative debris from storms, (9) weed abatement, disease, and pest prevention, (10) open flame devices, (11), land clearing, construction, and right-of-way maintenance, (12) disposal of packaging materials for explosives, and (13) land clearing with an air curtain destructor.

Yeah, so.....when is it not permitted? Seems like pretty much everything slots into one of those exceptions. Good law they have on the books there!

We hosted our annual Friendsmas this weekend so the end of last week was crazy and haven't had the chance to jump on. I did read the comments from a few of you last week and thank you for the kind works. It made me smile and lifted me up. I appreciate the support!

I talked to my supervisor in depth and she asked me to stay on the case and to please testify. I decided that it was best for me to give my testimony since I have been the one visiting the child and observing who is caring for him. My supervisor did reach out to the grandfather. He was just as defensive with her where she had to state he was not going to speak like that or she would end the call. He also said nasty things about me which she in turn told him that she has worked with me for 4 years and she will not tolerate him to speak ill of me given that she is kept abreast of what is going on with the case almost weekly.

We spoke a little while ago and she asked me about my future with the case. I told her if the niece continues to care for the child I will stay on the case. If he decides to quit his job and care for the child I am not sure. I have to do an in home visit each month and do not feel comfortable being alone with him. She supported this and said that she would attend the visits with me. Emotions were high last week and tired from work, hosting Thanksgiving, and preparing to host our friends. I do not like to quit or walk out on a situation. We decided that we will see how things go tomorrow in court and take this case in stride. Thanks again for letting me vent and the words of support. Truly appreciated!

YALL, I'VE GOT NEWS!!!!!!

We had court today and I testified which made me anxious because there were a few people who didn't agree. The grandfather was defensive and the judge told him no one in this courtroom is against you. We all want what's best for baby. She told him he needed to step up and be more present. Based on the way the judge spoke to him she agreed with my court report but was diplomatic when speaking to him. I left happy I testified but feeling like it didn't make a whole lot of difference. To much to go into.

I got a call from the niece about a hour ago. The grandfather thought a lot on his way home and is calling DCFS tomorrow and SURRENDERING CUSTODY TO THE NIECE!!!! He said he can't provide for him full time like he wants to due to the type of work he does. He knows baby has done well in her care and she will do everything to make sure he is taken care of. They will work together to raise baby and he can do more financially by being in a true grandfather role.

This news lifted my spirits and answered prayers. Thank you all again for letting me air it out! Next up, hoping the DCFS worker holds it together tomorrow and we can get this ball rolling so baby can be adopted!

Agreed, while I was in search of a new daily I drove my M roadster (only offered in manual), and sitting through CT/NY I-95 rush hour traffic was beyond annoying. Any benefits of experiencing a manual we’re not realized at all during those few short weeks.

I confess my wife was buzzed this weekend and let the cat out of the bag. One of our mutual friends apparently told her I have changed, become very selfish and inconsiderate

It bothers me bc it may be true. Her husband had a double brain aneurism. Fast forward 2 years and they divorced bc he has been brainwashed by his family and doesn’t know his wife was there for him every single day while he was in a coma and the hospital. I never went back home to visit, and still haven’t. We have spoken but he was my assistant at a job and a great friend….maybe she was right and it bothers me that I agree with her

I mean, if you're already donating money to your cable company, why not support free information?

Because they get plenty of $ from the likes of Google, Apple, Microsoft, FB, etc. Besides that, it's "FREE" so no I don't feel like donating to it. Feel free to do so yourself. I'm sure you do, right?

BTW, I don't have a cable company.

Doesn't make much sense but ok.

By definition, a donation only goes to providers of "free" stuff.
You donate to Salvation Army, to church, to army veterans, you donate blood…

If you're paying for a service provided by a company, there's no such thing as a donation to them.
