Looks awesome. Nice to see some fresh design language from the mother-ship.

When I saw the photo I immediately thought the same thing. Pontiac was trying to resemble the BMW grille and as a BMW enthusiast, Pontiac failed. Now BMW is ditching their kidney shape design standard (at least in this concept drawing) one more time and it looks like a cheap attempt at looking like a BMW to me. Oh well. |

Maybe if you stopped eating beef for a little while then MAYBE you might have a little different look at the world. Ha!
The car might not be for you. So what. It's a business. If you are not buying, then peace out. |

Sorry, but how so? Thing will be RWD, pretty compact, presumably have a manual transmission as option and hopefully be on the lighter side as well.
The way I see it, this will be one of the few cars that still follow their Ultimate Driving Machine slogan (an assumption based on what we've seen and heard). I for one quite like what I see, glad to see something else than the connected headlights we've seen on the later models. Some fresh winds |

unnecessarily bulky and bold lines. the high trunk line tells me its a hard top (heavier convertible) and wreaks of a lexus convertible stink. humongous front grills also follow the lexus trend. its just not for me.

Sorry, no. All the data thus far, indicate that the new Z4 is a canvas top. Even the camouflaged test mule, which has no camouflage on the roof, clearly and prominently shows the canvas top in plain view for all the world to see.

Sorry for having an opinion. High trunk line just looks bulky and I made the assumption it was a hard top.

To be fair, I never said I wasn't of that view as well; in fact I am of the same view. But as the Z4 in E85/86 and E89 trim has gotten more than its share of negativity since it replaced the much inferior Z3 (which somehow sold like hotcakes despite its performance shortcomings), I expect that others will just pile on it because its a Z4, even if it is bang on.

The Z3 sold well because it was simple, relatively cheap, fun and communicative. Really just a gussied up Miata with a few luxury touches. BMW keeps moving away from this, but not with any direction. They've never been as sporty or capable as a Boxster and they've never been as feminine as a TT or SLC/SLK. Here's hoping the new one is light, like near 3k pounds, has some actual steering feel and returns some of the rawer edges that made the E36/7 and E85 so fun. |

I completely agree. And if the car is a letdown, I will be among those most disappointed.
