Anyone Beat 49.5 mph?
I've done a fair amount of touring in my 2021 Z4 sDrive30i since taking delivery of it in Spartanburg on March 25th, 2021. I'm thoroughly enjoying it whether tearing up the miles on the interstates or tearing up the back roads in the mountains. What a great car!
If I ever sell it I'll advertise it as mostly highway miles and use this picture to validate that claim. Almost 50mph average over almost 31,000 miles. I'd be surprised if anyone can beat that average speed! Just got my third oil change and the brakes are at 7mm rear and 10mm front. BMW will change the brake fluid Jan 2024 which is great as the maintenance plan ends March 2024. My tires are approaching 30k miles and the rears have perhaps another 2-3k on them. I certainly won't be getting the 45k miles Michelin warrants them for but then I can't do a full rotation on them as the fronts are narrower. These are the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires. They've been great. Oh, and the average MPG over the 30,762.2 miles is 34.9 mpg! |

I'm at 48.2 mph average over ~3200 miles. However, just over 25.2 mpg over that range.

33.3 mph at 21.1 mpg over 5000 miles. Definitely having fun, and never worry about gas mileage. 5000 miles on the tesla for no gas, 90 mpge? Prior was M3 over 9000 miles at 16.8 mpg, so relatively much improved.

Hmm, this is a common complaint on the ford expedition forum, too. Rears wear faster than fronts…

The front brakes do most of the stopping and thus wear faster in straight braking. With stability control and traction control there's more wear on the rears from those systems. So depending on your driving (twisties, stop & go traffic, rain, highway) it's becoming more common for the rear brake pads to wear faster.

I definitely have NEVER been able to do that haha! Then again, I don't drive on the high way enough to attempt it. Think it has something to do with the fact that when I took the M40i out for a test drive the sales agent had made mention that I drive in a lot more fun way compared to her boyfriend/fiance/husband (I forgot what she said lol) who owns an M3. Most I've been able to get out of it was about 35 MPG.

Believe it or not, I have never driven more than 40-50 miles with my M40i as we have used my wife's 228i with the much larger trunk for really long road trips. However using Adaptive mode for those 40-50 miles trips I have achieved 34+ mpg. If I were to take a longer trip with my M40i which we plan on doing this summer by packing light I would probably average somewhere in the very high 30's. |

If I would STOP messing around in the car, I could probably do better, but honestly Z4 is either used for quick trips, going to business meetings, going to Cars and Coffee or just driving when my wife's car isn't available or if she needs it. If I actually drove in Eco Pro, I'd probably get better gas mileage, but I average 29 MPG on a regular basis. |

If you drove in Eco Pro, you'd probably wonder why the gas pedal is now broken: an Amish buggy has more horsepower
