I hope something similar to Z8 comes back to the line up.

I hope an LSD finds its way in the rear axle, having a relationship to toyota; usually the japanese are the last ones not to cheap out on important components like that

I don't mind what it is... as long as it's not tank heavy and handles as well as a Porsche it'll be a winner. If it doesn't then I'm afraid the roads "will be the same again".

Very early concept drawing ... mules are heavily camouflaged but don't seem to look anything like the concept drawing? Maybe that isn't the Z4 after all (like some have suggested)? |

Haha, name a BMW that handles as well as a mid engined Porsche. You can just assume this won't buck the trend.

Looks like a commercial for a VARIS bodykit

Lol. Yea they basically make fake panels to throw off the prying eyes. We do the same for our vehicles it's pretty much the norm. That's why whenever I see people talking about the bulbous fenders and stuff I just chuckle as I know the design will be completely different.

True, I recall seeing that video before. I'm just really surprised that the canvas top now seems like a ploy. Judging by the teaser pictures it seems it'll not be canvas, or at least not completely canvas at all. Well played.

First, read the linked article. Nearly everyone in the industry agrees that this is not the Z4 but the M8. Second, it's a show car, not a production car. It could have a Lego roof and that has F all to do with what the actual car delivered to customers is.
To recap, almost certainly not a Z4. Even if it were, the pre production tester has a canvas top, read into that what you will. |

It this show car appears to either have no roof at all, or a kludgy, erector set style roof like the Ferrari 550 Barchetta or a stupid hard panel like the 575 Superamerica. I suspect the folks that are calling this show car the M8 convertible are likely correct.
