Hubba. Most likely replacement for my M Coupe, especially if they'd just bring the damn wagon.

Finally, they got the pricing right!!!

Black S4 looks way better though. The official pics look so blend.

Audi has one of the worst depreciation curves around....couple that with no free oil changes etc., and lack of customer service in my experience and you get FAIL..

For what it is, the price seems about right. I wouldn't venture to say "great" price though.

I wouldn't say that. Giving it a chip can raise the power substantially. Plus, I think this engine has potential.

For such an important car for Audi the outside styling is boring. Not near enough to differentiate it from the typical A4.

B6...the good old days.

You could say the same about any 335i and in fact there is more to "differentiate" than there is between the 328i and the 335i IMHO

No one would expect that much difference between 328 and 335. The M3 is the top of the 3 series which has obvious differences from the rest of the pack.

The same should go for the S4 being the top of the 'A4' line.

Wrong, Audi created the RS4 to compete with the M3. The S4 is in direct competition with the 335, and I am very impressed with these prices, seems to be quite competitive with the 335 (which is audis target with this car). I think the B8 is a great looking car. I love both the 335 and the S4, when the time comes for me to purchase a new car, these two will be the front runners. Probably leaning towards the S4 right now for one reason: traction. Sure, the S4 will be slightly harder to extract aftermarket power from, but I am predicting that the B8 S4 will be a potent platform for tuners. Plus AWD>non-LSD 2wd.

You should check out what "MTM" did with their car. Chip and exhaust yielded near 100hp. Without pulley upgrades .

Anyway, I just hope the internals are strong enough to bear all the extra heat.

Before deciding on the XF I drove the S4 complete with DSG and fully Audi select drive with Sportsdiff. It drives remarkably like my M3, it turns in with the same determination, it steering feel is similar though I think the M3 might have slightly better feel for what's going on. But the S4 counters with best comfort and a dual clutch that suffers none of the M-DCT's failings.

One area were I felt the S4 didn't match the M3 and ultimately was one of the reasons for my picking the Jag instead was it didn't settle over bumps as well. But after the test drive I came away with the conclusion that it was too similar to the M3 for what I was wanting. But given the price and the tuning potential it a serious rival to an M3.

It's sad that even the manufacturer's website couldn't get their specifications consistent. If you look at the specs for their engine, the title states it's a 3.0L turbocharged, though the details states supercharged.

Pretty good starting price. I mean used Z06 would destory it in every way shape or form and cost less, BUT HEY if your purchasing new. I think id go for this over a 335i. Wait till the aftermarket companies start coming out with some cute little appearance parts, i bet they will look badass

The current RS4 was released before the current M3. Audi typically releases the R version when the series is reaching its end of life.

I saw that a while back, quite impressive. But MTM is pricey. I can't wait until some of the tuners here in the US get a hold of it. Should be interesting

+1 you could definitely tell the difference between a B7 A4 and S4. Still decent for the price though.

^^Agree. Audi's styling has become so common lately. You have to get to the top of the range before their is any excitement. Sure the pricing is fine and the power-plant will undoubtedly be great but the car gets lost between the Camrys.

The muscular short nosed B6S4 Avant was the best styled IMO.

Mr. Roboto- Audi's styling has become so common lately.

Seems like all car companies have chosen the Bland styling latley...
