Horn goes off when I turn the wheel at all?
Greetings all,
I woke up to some frustrating issues with my 2003 Z4. I started the car as usual but found that whenever I did anything in the car, the horn would go off. If I moved the steering wheel at all, it would sound until I stopped moving the wheel. If I changed the gear, the horn would go off (I never drove it, just moved it to neutral). Clutch in, same thing. The issue was remarkably sensitive. Even lightly touching the wheel would make the horn go. I didn't do much more testing than this because, frankly, it was annoying and I didn't want to bother my neighbors. I really hope someone on this forum may be able to help me. The little research I have done suggests that "the SIR COIL wire is shorting out to ground when turning the wheel" and likely needs the steering wheel pulled. The issue described in this research is similar but not nearly as sensitive as what I am experiencing. It may be different. Thank you in advance for any help/advice you can offer! |
