Massa penalised, Schu escapes

Many drivers got warnings and Massa got a 20 second penalty for speeding in pitlane...but schumi escapes...

Quote:
The race stewards were kept busy as they had to deal with several incidents after the Canadian Grand Prix.

First they slapped Felipe Massa with a 20-second penalty for speeding in the pitlane during the closing stages of the race. However, luckily for the Ferrari driver the penalty doesn't have an affect his 15th place finish as he was a lap clear of Heikki Kovalainen in 16th place.

Massa was forced to make a pit stop with just seven laps to go after damaging his front wing during a scrap with Michael Schumacher for P10.

He was clocked at 105.4 km/h in the pitlane, exceeding the speed limit of 100 km/h.

With the infringement coming so late in the race, the stewards had no option but to punish him a 20-second penalty instead of the normal drive-through penalty.

The stewards, one of which was former World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi, opted not to punish Mercedes GP driver Schumacher for his role in the collision after looking into the matter post-race.

"The Stewards after hearing the explanation of both the Competitors representatives and the drivers decided that the incident requires no further action," the stewards' official report said.

Meanwhile, Toro Rosso's Jamie Alguersuari was given a reprimand for his involvement in collision with Williams' Rubens Barrichello during the early stages of the race.

Robert Kubica also received a reprimand for his 'dangerous entry to the pit' at the halfway stage

The Renault driver dived across Force India's Adrian Sutil just before entering the pitlane.

I just don't like LH. It's a well documented fact here that I believe him to be a spoiled, arrogant, unprofessional brat. I DO, however, recognize that he is a brilliant driver. But I hate to see him win.

Bob, I thought I'd just take a moment to explain to any first time Formula 1 viewers that the cars are on four "wheels". These round devices are located at each corner and permit the car to travel at speeds up to 340kph! That's over 210mph for you retarded Americans, LOLOLOL.

Also, the silver colored SILVER ARROW MERCEDES is driven by SEVEN TIME WORLD CHAMPION Michael Schumacher, IN THE DISTINCTIVE RED HELMET. As a SEVEN TIME WORLD CHAMPION it means that Michael Schumacher, IN THE DISTINCTIVE RED HELMET, has won the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SEVEN TIMES.

It's annoying the Speed gets blacked out here now.
But I'm so happy that we aren't forced to watch it on FOX here in Canada.
We get it on TSN, which picks up their feed from the BBC with Jonathan Legard and Martin Brundle.

it was a great race weekend, q3 of qualifing was awesome. I'm a huge LH fan so def was awesome to watch him take pole in the last lap

the race was even better, only thing that sucked, is like others said the Fox broadcast w/ the announcers having to explain everything, like nascar fans are really watching

its gonna suck even more on the next race, since we cant even see it Live, freaking Fox

WTF???
I hope you mean BBC...

SPEED and FOX here in US has tonnes of commercials....about 2-3 ads (about 2 mins) every fucking 6 laps....and they had to cut into commercials when there's about to have overtake on the track...or any actions or driver radio communications....

then all i got was Bob Varsha say "here's a replay of XXXXXX overtook XXXXXX" and David Hobbs "This is a fantastic move"...and Steve Machett "We can see how XXXXXX took the slip stream of XXXXX and dive into the corner...."

I just downloaded BBC F1 coverage....they've been broadcast F1 since 2009 WITHOUT ANY commercials.....and much better commentators....even Eddie Jordan is growing into me....
BBC is so much better in terms of qualify of commentating.....there's two ex-drivers (David Coulthard and Martin Brundle), as well as an ex-team owner (Eddie Jordan).....

Honestly....if they try to get NASCAR fans interest in F1....just three dumb down races every year just doesn't cut it....

You will have to "live" in F1 news, races, and gossips....everytime they try to explain the great rivalry of McLaren vs Ferrari...."YAH...we ALL know that!"
Tell us something that we don't know.

Like first time viewer of NBA wouldn't understand the rivalry of Lakers vs Celtics....you have to be hardcore fans who live in NBA to feel and understand all the hate....geez....then the next race in Valencia will be recorded and rebroadcast at FOX at 9am....so SPEED can show some infomercials.....

Interesting race. Reminds me of last year with the frequent pitting that has been absent for much of this season. It was hard to keep track of the leader and I would much rather have seen Button win but whatevs. It was a real race and a loved it. Wish I could have been there. The exchange between Vettel and his team about the fastest lap was HYSTERICAL!! Glad to see Canada back on the calendar!

at least it was live yesterday....but why recorded at FOX in 2 weeks???
its not like they're showing anything important 5am PT on a Sunday!!!!

Should've just show live on SPEED for all races....and delayed record races on FOX couple hours later....
