BMW has made it clear that ///M now stands for MONEY. People will pay for the badge, so they will put it on anything they can.

M3 is indeed a great performer. Amazing performance in a 4 door entry luxury sedan. Only competition is the Alfa Quad. Both Excellent. But for me i just could not get one. I always have a sports car/ roadster. Be it a Z4 , Corvette or Porsche. And i also want a Luxury Vehicle that looks great. Hence my Audi A7.Its got looks, room and total luxury interior. In fact if the Z4 was slower and had a hardtop i could care less. There is always going to be a faster car just around the corner.I think there is a recent camaro that can beat a corvette. But we would never own a camaro. Im not bashing the M3 or M4 in fact i almost got one.But it just don't fit for me. If i needed just 1 car that would be my first choice if it were 2015 to 2017. But in 2018 it would be M5.

blah blah, M, blah......My only previous BMW was a 2005 X3; coming from a Jaguar F type and Mercedes C class, I don't have any built in "M" bias and frankly don't care what they call the Z4 M40i; I bought it because it looks great and performs better than all the other cars in it's class with the exception of the overpriced Boxster....and I didn't like the P's four cylinder.
As a newcomer to performance BMW's , it never occurred to me that BMW fanboys from old would consider two and four door sedans more "sporty" than a 400+ hp, two seat roadster.....seems weird to me but whatever. Because of my lack of history, I don't take issue with the M badges on my car but since the factory put them there, they aren't "fake" IMO. .....totally different than adding badging that was never put on the car. Not sure what the M means now that they put it on 5000+ lb SUV's anyhow.... ok, carry on. :-) Dave |

15mm spacers in rear,. Looks way better. Can see my tires in rear view now. Helps when parking. Also slight oversteer is gone. Very Happy

We can agree to disagree about the Z4 being an M.

An "M"logo is a logo they all over my SUV 2015 X1 Msport. Just saying if the guy likes the look of the sticker, so be it, to say the car is unworthy of the sticker I take exception to. |

I'm a big fan of BMW cars, owned over 20, including M's, they are all great, but the new Z IMO is special, delivering what I want in my daily driver. enjoy, you won't be disappointed in your new Z. |

P.S. I will never love the ZF8 in my Z4, but will always love the 6MT in my M4. Big difference in driving pleasure.

Goodbye E89 Hello G29!
loved my E89 but theres no comparison between the handling of the 2. Even with new springs, coilovers and wheels/tires the E89 didn't handle like a sports car. The G29 is something else altogether!

Thanks a pretty car for sure, the blue is so youthful I love it. I ordered silver and I’m obsessed with the car. Drove to Scottsdale 5.5 hrs with wife, top down all the way and back. Got a good tan and averaged 30+ MPG. I now have 1800 miles of enjoyment on her.

Love your M4. The Z4 lap was on the Euro version not the stronger US version. Car and Driver tested 0-60 in 3.8 so i'm curious what that lap would have been.

Now I've reached break-in, all I can say is this car feels very, very fast, 3.8 ain't slow or sure, but I wouldn't be surprised that a skilled driver could get to 3.5-3.6 with a properly wore in engine.
