Ceramic Coating
Took two days but the ceramic coating is now done. Since the car was just delivered Friday, very little prep was needed.
The picture does not do it justice... it actually looks wet. |

I did my X5 with Cquartz, the UK 3.0 version. Love it. Haven't hit it with Reload yet. Doesn't need anything after a year. Recently bought another 50 ml for when I finally get a Z4. Also bought this ceramic leather treatment and the Gyeon cleaner for the new seats. https://www.autogeek.net/gyeon-q2-leather-shield.html Autogeek gives deep discounts. Got 25% off on the entire order and free shipping thanks to an email notification. |

My Z4 has the anthracite top. It is also completely wrapped in XPEL Stealth and is coated (including the wheels) with XPEL Fusion Plus ceramic coating.

No, you don't wax XPEL. Besides it has the ceramic on top.

Looks good. I used CQuartz 3.0 on my wife's X3 a year and a half ago. It is still going strong. Makes washing a breeze. I used Cquartz 3.0 on my Z4 11 months ago and put 303 on the top. The rain beads on the top just like the rest of the car.

Have the standard black on the Z4 & Moonlight Black on the 135is. Totally different look when they are side by side. Wanted a pure black top on the black car. The Moonlight Black is on a mineral gray one.

Here's a super concentrated shampoo that leaves a slick, dirt repelling effect, another great CarPro product. Best car shampoo this old fart has ever used. https://www.amazon.com/CarPro-Reset-...omotive&sr=1-2
Car is quickly scrubbed with this soft brush on a 6' pole, and no, it doesn't damage paint. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EHD6YP0...roduct_details And then finished with a spot free rainwater rinse via a garden hose dropped out of a 4' wall vent and an ass kicking pump I use for watering tropical fruit trees (mangos, avocados, citrus, etc.) I grow. BTW, sent you a PM regarding an article Satch Carlson (BMW CCA chief editor) did on me, the hill country and his stint with a Z4 in the Champagne area of France. |

I didn't see your PM. Will go look. Since I have been a BMW CCA member for 40 years, I am familiar with Satch and the Roundel. I was the President (as my signature says) of the Tejas Chapter for 27 years (1990-2017).

I plan on doing the same when my car is delivered. What did you have to do since it was brand new before applying the ceramic coat? I've watched a lot of youtube videos, but since this is a new off the boat car do I need to do anything to prep besides a good wash? Thanks! |
