Some how for the past 12 years I've been able to survive driving it. I also have a '08 E86 Z4 with the extended leather interior and M-sport seats. I drive that once a week. I have to say I feel no different after the drive in either car. I mean, I'm not sitting ass-naked on the seat and both cars have leather steering wheels...

As long as the seats and driving position are comfortable and the interior is rattle-free, what does it really matter?
Its a preference thing. The consideration I keep raising is that its hard to go from a german car to an american one in many cases because the "quality" level feels lower on American cars in general. Of course comfort/ride and seat position is paramount to enjoy long drives. I dont want to "survive my drive" I want to enjoy it and arrive feeling good physically. Though the exterior panel gaps on my m3 are atrocious, especially for an 80k car, the interior is one of the things that really made me love my m3. The quality is high and it feels like an 80k car inside. My M is now 10 years old and the whole car still looks stylish by modern standards and my interior looks like a new car to this day.

My friend has a c6. Its a great car performance wise but has to be one of the worst interiors I have ever seen. Its not that old of a car and everything looks worn out inside after a few years of ownership. If rattles. Style wise its starting to look dated. The seats were ok, but after an hour drive my back was hurtin. I could not stop looking at the cheap buttons where the paint had rubbed off. The plastic everywhere interior and cheap infotainment systems made me really happy to jump back into my M car. I was wondering why there is an oh shit handle on the dash etc. It was a major turn off to me.

Its going to be really hard to beat the price/performance/quality balance I see in the photos of the C8 when compared to another M or 911 variant. I am starting to think more and more that the C8 might replace my m3 in the near future. I need to see and drive it to make that decision. Its all on paper now with the news announcement.

Bottom line, its getting harder for me to look at a 911 and say I need that since the C8 seems to check all the boxes I wanted out of that car other than the brand name. I could buy two cars for the price of one if I can get myself off the 911 bandwagon.

The C8 side vent is very bothering. Just doesn't flow well.

I guess I'll wait for the C9 then!

This is likely to be one of those cars that holds its value extremely well. In fact, due to the radical change (mid engine and overall design) the earlier first year models "might" even go up in value.

Wow looks hella fast. Looks bit overdone but nothing else out there at this price range doing this radical design change backed up by cool interior and awesome numbers on the spec. Just wish back end resembled old corvette rather than camero. Regardless, fantastic car to have under $80k range!!!

I would give my left nut, no make that both, for this car.

The price point is just insane. And it looks absolutely spectacular.

That blue colour is very good. I have always felt a Corvette should be red or yellow, but the blue looks better.

Sadly though, this will never make it over to South Africa.

Very very sad.....

No radar cruise? Oh no, I am out. Cant have a car without that, lane departure, blind spot, and back up camera. I mean lack of manual transmission who cares but I cant deal without the nannies.

Highly doubtful since these will be mass-produced.

If it’s anything like the C7 the less than 60k price won’t last long. The below 50k price I think lasted half a model year before a price adjustment. By 2021 I’d expect it 2-4K higher. Granted mass production means these won’t be bought at sticker for more than a year or so.

Even at 65k this car would be a bargain IMO.

After carefully reviewing the Order Guide I know my must-have options. A 2LT Coupe; GT2 Seats in Jet Black; Z51 Package; the FE4 upgrade to the Z51 Package; and the front lift system.

Only option left to consider is the color scheme and the cost of Engine Appearance Package.

By that time you will be able to get HUGE discounts on the C8.
Chevy will be building a zillion of them just like they did with C7. By year 3, they will need to be heavily discounted to move all the inventory.

Right now you can get C7 GranSport for 15-20% off without even negotiating.

That's the beauty of it if you aren't a snob and don't care about thinking you are extra special by having exclusivity.

I don't really care if every car around me is the same. I care about the driving experience and how I feel driving it.

I LOVE that GM builds performance cars (1LE Camaros, C8) that destroy the competition, then whore them out with deep discounts after a couple years. For me, it's a win/win

Paying less for more is awesome, and the total opposite of BMW

Interesting, almost identical to my theoretical build. I did the grey seats those for a little colour variety.

Really loving the C8, but at a build that will likely land in the $75k area will I still want to pay the price. Really looking forward to what this means to pricing on used Ftype Rs and C7 GSs over the next year. Might be worth it to be patient on the C8 as others have noted.

Am I the only one a bit perplexed by the boring wheel styling and very flat face? The C8 body looks great and then there are the wheels that look very standard and absolutely no offset/dishing.

they always leave room for improvement. The brakes, although not sure how functional they are... already look puny too.

This is the 340i model. Gotta wait for the M3 (The Z06). That will be the real deal supercar killer.

I'm not really a base model kind of car buyer, but I'm solidly a <$80k buyer. Considering I need to carry golf clubs in my car, the Stingray is a very attractive option. That being said, I still have to look at one in person and see how it fits when inside.

I just cannot get past the looks and I am no euro snob, give me NA V8's all freaking day. Seems to be F430 front end with a stretch 2018 Camaro rear, just doesn't fit together at all. The current gen is so much cleaner and nicer to look at.

Ditto. I'll be looking for a used 2LT/3LT Z51 around 2022-2023, right around the time I had been planning of retiring my M235i. I think it'll help that I can't seem to choose a single color that I'd want, as I really like the C8 in many of its colors - both blues and reds, white, black, orange, and maybe even bronze (I'd have to see that one in person).

I'm thinking the opposite, the higher spec models on the C7 have surely just dropped in value and TBH unless SERIOUSLY tracking the thing does anyone notice the performance difference? And it looks 1,000 times better IMHO.
