Picked up a plain, conservative pair of white pumas (daily wear) for $19.99 the other day. Shoe pricing in general continues to perplex me. I saw several pairs of similar looking shoes (albeit from other brands) for $150, $175+. I don't get it.

Are Jordans really a good, stable investment or is it luck of the draw?

My mother taught me that good shoes are important, which is why when a shoes fits me well, looks good and is comfortable, I don't look at the price. I've had expensive shoes last me for close to 8 years now. However, you'll never see me spend more than $100 for sport shoes.

Nice. Yeah I'm pretty no-nonsense when it comes to sports shoes/daily wear. I tend to focus on form and functionality. I was just surprised to see $150+ price tags on some of these other sports shoes from what I understand to be blue collar brands (Adidas, Nike, Puma, etc.). There's only so much "engineering" that can go into designing a sports shoe.

Exactly. Which is why I'll drop $1K on nice boots, but not more than $100 on sport shoes.

Nice! But come on man give us some background, educate us on these slick dress shoes

Are they italian? What do they costs?

When the situation arises, I do have a couple pairs of Bruno Magli's and gucci sandals for the beach.

I bought a pair of Santoni shoes on a whim about a year ago because of a topic like this

They're pretty versatile and they've held up pretty well over the course of a year.

^^ Pics??

@bmw-nj, I was asking about the soles being icy or not because you mentioned you got them at Ebay. A lot of fakes been going around lately but for the concord mids. Didn't know yours were lows on that first pic, but yours are solid!

Here are my mids from 2013 while we're at it. One of my favs

haha word.

@Nemesisx to answer your questions: the reasons some shoes cost much more than others has an answer that I'm sure you're already know the answer to.

You got white Puma's for $30 and you see other sport shoes for $175. The difference you ask? Well, have you seen a T-Shirt at Target for $10 and then seen a T-Shirt at Givenchy for $300? Same item different brand.

To answer your 2nd question, Jordans are a good investment if you are able to get what is considered "heat" which is the most limited shoes. I can go into way more detail, but it is somewhat a luck of the draw based on the raffles implemented for these shoe releases.

GiveEmTheDD can tell you how profitable it has been for him I'm sure.
