Found a film company that makes some nice stuff

Wanted to tone down the roundels front and back with out replacing them. The bright blue logo clashes with Sanremo. I found a company online called Lamin-x and they make film covers for the roundel in a variety of colors.

I picked a gray tinted one and it really tones down the roundel. Easy to apply and not very expensive. Cut was perfect. Also bought some clear door edge guards that are a bit tricky to install but great once on.

Thought Id share...

Would like to give them another shot. Are the reflectors still under cut & showing yellow? Also what color is the blackest?

This is really important

Ive said this before to the 3 series people.

DOT requires visible reflectors on the 4 corners of the car. Having the light shine through these dark films isnt enough. The reflectors have to work. If you ever get in a wreck and the insurance company sees those films covering "safety equipment" you wont get paid. Allstate told me this. More importantly those reflector things could save your life.

I see people buying black replacement lights from China and replacing the DOT approved lights because they think they look cool. DON'T DO IT!!!!

Its not worth it.

Not sure this with actual lights on the side you would be beaten by an insurance company. Its all about visibility & the only time these are not visible is when the car is parked & shut off.

Infact the DRL's show before the reflectors which are further setback on the fender if its coming into an intersection from a cross street.

As for saving my life I think two large lights preceding it are a better bet than one small reflector that shows after the front of the car to the front of the wheel is already into the danger zone.

I know there is an amber reflector in front, not sure there is a red one in the back unless its part of the light.

Agree 100% on headlights & tail lights but the fact is both the headlights & tail lights rap around the body of our cars & have way more light exposed to the sides than the reflectors do. Infact in some cases they expose more light to the sides than some cars rear light assemblies do to the rear.

My old car had no separate reflectors. Requirements must've been met through incorporation into the lights.

Really does not matter what you or I think as it relates to safety. It only matters what the dude in DC who takes the Metro to work everyday thinks.
