2009 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix

Another back to back weekend for Formula One fans!

Great Job Vettel!!! Awesome racing in the rain!!!

Now we're heading to Middle East, should be a dry weekend...will Ferrari bounce back without any points in the first three races since 1980s??? McLaren seems to be picking up the pace but a bit handful in rain....
Are the Brawns going to dominate again in Bahrain or Redbull will continue to be quick?

definitely a season to watch with no single dominating force so far. the big guys are knee deep in shit while the new guys keep on ringing in points and victories.

Should be another great race and I expect a completely dry race in Bahrain. Hopefully a full dry race will give us a better comparison of the cars. I expect the Brawn's to be strong again as most teams are not introducing new parts/aero packages until F1 reaches Europe for the Spanish Grand Prix in May

Looks like Brawn would still be the team to beat - Renault's upgrade still doesn't seem to be able to match Brawn's or Redbull's. As it is unlikely it's going to rain in the desert , Brawn should be strong.

If Redbull is able to manage to bring in new diffuser to Bahrain, than they could be tough to beat. The whole car is designed to improve air flow to the rear diffuser - so unlike some other teams who need to have major rework of their package, it seems to me they just need to fit a double decker on, to add more seconds to their car.

From some of Christian Horne's interviews... it seems to me they are quietly very confident with the new diffusers coming on.

O.k. three races in for my new fandom of the sport, and I must say where have I been all these years. Driving in the rain is just flat out insane.

Sunday came around and I watched the LB Grand Prix and just not the same!

Now my only problem is I have no Idea who to root for!

Root for Brawn, they're the underdogs.

I'd also like to see Force India score a point next race too. Sutil was SO close last time, and he would have too if he hadn't ate it.

Still, cant wait. I finally got Speed in time for this season, and I've got addicted to F1, gotta love DVR.

And expect nothing too exciting from BMW as the new diffuser doesn't come until Spain.

If Heidfeld does not screw up, he may end up on the podium as he is very consistent and lucky. As for Kubica, I have no idea what will happen. He did amazing last year, but this year the F1.09 w/o KERS and w/o the new aero package isn't up to snuff it seems. This may be a good chance to get some constructors points at least...Brawn will dominate IMO.

Funny you should say that though, cause my brother hung out with Kimi in Helsinki, had no idea who he was, and my brother said he was a really cool guy.

So I was thinking I would root for him since that is my only close connection to F1. Hey and Ferrari is not so hot this year so it's kinda like rooting for the underdog!

Actually, Alonso did very well considering the rain delay ruined the race strategy for Renault. He started 20th after pitting for fuel when the safety car exited. He would have finished on the podium for sure, perhaps won were it not for the delay. I was hoping to see an epic Vettel/ Alonso battle in the rain. I'm crossing my fingers we see this before the year is over if both drivers keep up the strong qualifying. What an exciting year so far!

FYI. Anyone in the Baltimore/DC area is welcome to Russel BMW for the Spanish GP live May 10th. RSVP at daviles@russelbmw.com by the 7th.
