I just finished reading this article about the huge # of job losses that has already occurred.

30K lost in total over at Circuit City

It's scary to even imagine the vast number of people that each will be competing against once the market bounces back to normal.

(Wait ..They may have been the big eaters of free food served in company cafeteria. So more bread for everyone and good riddance

^ Tia (teah wth ever the spelling is) Leone is the wife. Her husband (Jim Carey) gets laid off. They get desperate. Funny movie, but creepy as to how people will get when desperate. I see it happening.

Guys fighting each other to get up the stairs to do interviews etc etc.

Actually at google, it was mainly engineers and recruiters that weren't needed anymore. My sister is a senior recruiter there and thankfully she's still safe!

Oh wow. Yes, I defianately can see this happening as well.

On one hand I want to be confident for the market to pick up soon so that I can land a full-time job again (right now all I've been getting are contract positions within the lending industry). But on the other hand, I'm scared to see how many others I will be competing against as it seems as everyday a group of my friends are being let go.

Edit: Andrew, really? Wow! Well I do hope that your sister will continue to be safe there.
