Comparing the Z4 against the Boxster make perfect sense to me, and their prices are close enough to cross-shop the two vehicles. The biggest problem with both cars is the price. These are third/weekend cars for most people. Spending over $60k for a third car that will only be driven occasionally is too expensive for most people. Buying them used after they have heavily depreciated is the way to go. The only concern I have is whether enough people will buy/lease these cars new and take the depreciation hits, so that us car guys can scoop them up in a few years for $20k or less.
