APEX | Forged and Flow Formed wheels for the G29 Z4

APEX Wheels Introduction

We wanted to introduce ourselves and APEX wheels to the G29 Z4 community. A few of you have already helped provide feedback on our recent Forum Survey where we provided an inside look at a testfitment and photoshoot of a G29 Z4 on our wheels (Thanks for the feedback!).

For those of you who aren’t familiar with APEX, we’re an aftermarket wheel company focused on performance and chassis-specific wheel fitments with deep roots in BMW wheels specifically.

We’ve long provided Z3 and Z4 fitments across the E chassis generations and plan to continue that trend in the future. We initially developed performance fitments for the A90 Supra with a focus on compact and wide fitments, but as we’ve expanded support for the 5x112 bolt pattern fitments across our range, our fitment options for the G29 have expanded. We recently had the opportunity to bring in a G29 for a recent testfitment and have double-checked fitment to ensure we didn’t encounter any unexpected surprises. Here’s a short video of our Forged VS-5RS wheels on that car:

My name is Tom, and I’m the primary BMW product expert here at APEX. I’ve been heavily involved in all things BMW but especially the new G chassis fitments that we’ve been launching and expanding that involve the new 5x112 bolt pattern fitments.

Seeing is Believing

Take a deep dive with us into our library of Z4 content by exploring our on-car gallery pages. More photos will be added in the future, but if you’d like to be featured on your set of APEX wheels, email us some photos at experts@apexraceparts.com

A Fitment For You

We know what fits. From direct bolt-on to aggressive street fitments and everything in between. We've tested extensively to save you the trial-and-error.

Part of our support for our products includes our fitment guides. We try to produce advice to match our wheel fitments with recommendations for our wheels according to the type of customer you are and the modifications you will or won’t run now or in the future. Many of the options are carryover from the Supra, but I've added and removed or altered a few key options tailored to the Z4 specifically.

Click here to view our Z4 specific fitment guide.

Thread Outline

Since the G29 section only has a general thread at this point, we’ll outline technical details about our wheels along with recent photoshoots and product descriptions in future posts. Feel free to join in and ask questions along the way! Our product pages are hosted on our all-new site. Fitments still need to be added to the configurators but we’re working to make wheels and fitment more intuitive than ever before.

I'd love to see better photos of these wheels. I don't know why you have them so dark (underexposed) on your site. Also, do you have any pricing information available?

I have the same problem - I think it’s a website glitch. It’s like it’s the “not selected” effect where you hover over and it will get brighter but it never does. Definitely considering these based on how beautiful they are. I’ve never bought aftermarket wheels before though so have to learn about durability and upkeep.

Agreed, I've asked our team to correct the exposure on both sets in general and I'll have full photo showcases up once that is done. Pricing is tricky as this isn't a commercial section (there isn't one specific to this chassis). You can play around with the configurator for most of the options on our site here: https://apexwheels.com/vehicles/bmw/z4/g29

I weighed my factory 19" 799M style wheels after installing new forged wheels (not APEX). The front wheel (19x9) weighed 30.5 lbs and the rear (19x10) weighed in at 32.4 lbs compared to 20 lb front (19x8.5), 20.8 lb rear (19x9.5) for my forged wheels.

Based on that, I'd guess the APEX wheels weigh less than 25 lbs but no idea how much less.

FWIW, Michelin PSS tires weigh 23 lbs front, 26 lbs rear.
