Military Discount

I wish I was aware of this when purchasing my Z4.

Currently, BMW is offering a $2500 military discount on the Z4 to active duty, veterans, and military retirees, verified by ID.ME.

Even greater discounts are offered on other models.

Only if not purchased with BMW financing. $500 with BMW. Dealer doesn't tell you that.

So you can be the glass half empty, I’ll be the glass half full.

I’ll never use BMW financing and, regardless, the incentive is in addition to most other incentives but feel free to completely disregard it.

I either pay cash or use my credit union (NFCU) who nearly always beats BMW’s rates anyway but, hey, you do you.

Not true. I did not use BMW financing and still got $1,500 military discount when I got my M40i. I also went through Navy Federal which is why they wanted me to get a certified check. Apparently they have issues with NFCU not paying out the money. What a pain in the dick that was.

I used the military discount this summer on my Z4, but it was $1000, not $2500. Guess they are getting more motivated to move vehicles.

The military discount is one of the few you can use even if you don’t use BMW financing.

Depends on what you are buying. Not in the market but just used the veteran ID function on the BMW site & got $500-$5000.

Expect an M8 might draw the $5K

You just said what I did. If you don't use BMW financing you get $1500. If you do it's $500. When I got my S30i the salesman only said I'd get $500. It's my own fault for not investigating further and just relying on the samesman. Yeah, that was dumb.

How am I glass half empty? 🤔 It's just a statement of fact. I didn't know any better and went with BMW financing.

I got 2,500 when I got my 30i and went with BMW financing.

When they told me I could get 1,500 this time around it was regardless of who I was financing with. Military discount doesn't change based on who you are financing with.

Not sure what your issue is with BMWFS. The 2022 M4C @ MSRP less $1500 is a BMW loan @ 0.9%, have 3 years left out of five. Have never paid more than 2% for a BMW lease or loan.

You would if you did NOW, that's for sure. BMWFS was over 5%. NFCU was below 5% which is why I went with them over BMWFS. for the 30i, I did get .9% though.. that was hard to give up.

Yeah cost me 5% to buy out the Z4 lease 9 months ago. That said Have always found the BMW rates to be among the lowest available at any given time. The specials are way better.

My dealer tried to add a point and charge me 1.9% but when I showed the finance manager the BMW FS rate on the USA website I also received only .9% when I purchased my 2022. This was almost like not paying any interest at all.

Its just like the lease rates. The dealer has a range of money factors he can use. You need to be sure you are getting BMWFS best rate & not let the dealer market it up.

EDIT 11/04 - I should have added. You can get good rate numbers for a lease or a buy here in the Sticky's or the Pricing, Ordering, Leasing / Purchasing, Delivery section.

The finance managers are always trying to upsell you with warranty and service plans. Also many dealers try to add a point to the nationally advertised rates from BMW FS hoping the customer hasn’t done their homework.

Yeah, but now BMW doesn't put the interest rate on their web site. It just gives you a link to "Contact Dealer for current deals." I guess too many people were challenging dealers on the rate and complained to BMWFS.

When I got my S30i earlier this year I was told military discount was only $500 when I went with BMW financing. Are you telling me I was blatantly ripped off by my dealer?

Unless someone in the forum purchased in the same time frame as you, it's hard to say. The discounts change from time to time so it's possible the discount was less when you bought it than now.

My dealer/bmw honored the full 2500 with bmw financing. I did the pre-certification for both the financing and the discount online and presented that when I ordered. This was October 21, delivery in March of 22.

I am clueless how you could get $2500 when it states on the website it's $500.
