Hi all,

Has anyone purchased “BMW Remote Services”, and if so how long does it take to activate?

In the My BMW app, I have just purchased “BMW Remote Services” for £0. The BMW Connected Drive website says that “BMW Remote Services will be activated the next time you start your BMW.” I’ve been for a couple of short drives (only 15 mins), but the My BMW app still says “No Active Subscription”. Any ideas how long the My BMW app will take to activate? Thanks.

Can't say I've had this issue, it was always just ready to go. >,<

Thanks for the reply. I bought the car second hand, and don’t believe the car has the remote start option.

However, my understanding is that the “BMW Remote Services” Connected Drive package should allow remote lock/unlock, and show current mileage, fuel level, etc in the My BMW app.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve pressed and held the Volume button for 30 seconds. Is there an alternative “reboot” method you’d recommend?

That’s the only way I know how to do it.

I might suggest contacting the Genius line to see what's going on. There may be some things still tied to the previous owner, too.

Full reset. Most functionality will disappear in the car. It may be many hours before all services are restored. App & car will prompt fresh Connected Drive activation and acceptance. First check car settings - general - data privacy. All or under individual must be checked to allow remote services.

I've done it all

One thing I haven't seen in the list of actions is pressing on "Apps" and then on the "Option" key to sync the services.
Note that when you press on the applications key, you'll have to go once left with the knob so that the sync services menu appears.

Otherwise, I finally ended up to the service point where they had to force manually the software update.
They said there was an issue with the former owner not deregistering the car correctly from his account.
They had to force it in the garage.

After that all worked correctly.

Software version is now 11/2023.25

Thread hijack, my initial subscription that came with the car lapsed and I didn't renew because I'm cheap. I have noticed that Spotify is gone from my apps, I can't remote start, AND my auto steering wheel and seat heating at a set temperature as well as automatic window roll down features are all gone. Coooool

Setting temp for seats and wheel are gone? I thought that was just part of personalization-seat heaters come on at (whatever) temp?
Not nice if all these features just disappear lol
