Strip for parts! In 20-30 years people will wish for these parts cars to exist lol.

Is there a reason why they wouldn't sell these test cars?

If it’s a preproduction vehicle the manufacturer may not be able to sell them legally.

This summer MotorTrend wrote a article on BMW’s facility and they do strip parts as well as recycle:

Why strip parts from a new vehicle like this instead of simply selling it?

There is much more at stake for auto manufacturers than selling a few more cars — especially ones that potentially aren’t fully sorted out or fully compliant with regulations. VW got in trouble for letting some get through:

In addition to meeting regulations, the companies still have to warrant and service them. Back in 2006 Mazda scrapped 4703 seemingly undamaged 2007 cars that sat for a month at weird angles after the Cougar Ace capsized. Mazda did not want the risk of future problems and the potential public relations issues that could follow

It’s funny they had a test mule for the 2023. All they changed was the front grille/lower bumper and added some colors. What’s there to test?

Probably not, at least not engine related components. B58 is same same as others in the line up, plus with the supra being thr most modded car ever, we basically have the dream car for modding even more so than M cars, at least engine/exhaust wise

I’m sure a few of us know someone in the auto business. They have engineers for designing and assembling every part. If I was on the engineering team for the front grille, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t just slap it on there and call it good

I get this, but they literally just changed the pattern on it. Size and everything else is the same.
