Question Tailgate open message

Hello All,
Recently been having trunk gremlin where I-drive states that the tailgate is open. Physically checking the trunk it clearly is latched. Recently it's been the coldest since we've owned the car. Not sure if that is a factor, but wanted to post this for your ideas. About 2.5k miles on a 2023.

Anyone else experience this issue?

Sounds to me like a sensor needs to be adjusted or replaced. I would just let the dealer do the work under warranty.

Agree, likely trunk sensor flaking out. Would have it looked at.

There is a pull handle on the inside of your trunk lid. Wiggle that a bit. I got the same thing when my car was being worked on by my auto salon, came out and saw at little pull handle dangling. "This is new." Kinda pushed it back in and secured it and that warning went away.

Had same issue on mine last month. Ended up needing a new latch assembly.

Update: Took her to the dealer - basically was told that everything was okay. No codes. The SA mentioned that some additional force was needed with the seals being new and firming up with the colder conditions. Time will tell...
