Sorry, I didn't mean to suggest otherwise. I would never encourage others to run beta software. It is inherently risky. I get what you're saying but I don't feel as though BMW expects us to be software testers.

As far as "work the same way it worked the last time I used it", like it or not, software updates are frequently intended to change the way it works, presumably for the better though it may be arguable.

I just received the notice for this upgrade a few minutes ago and will attempt to install it the next time I am in the car. Hopefully it will install without any issues. 🤞

Earlier this year I received the 11.2022 update on my phone and transferred to the car but it wouldn't install. It was still under warranty and I had to take it to the dealer to get them to complete the update. All of the previous updates had no problems remotely.
Last weekend I got the 03.2023 update on the phone and x-ferred it to the car. It's stuck again on Preparations complete but is not installing. I did all the things people said already. I'm out of warranty so I'm not taking it into the dealer. I feel like it's a money grab from BMW to force those out of warranty to take it into the dealers and pay the fee to install. There's got to be a way to force the install to complete remotely.

So I set the parking brake and then locked the door with the remote and went up to my condo after the update was downloaded from my iPhone's My BMW app.

When I checked the app later on it said the vehicle was open and unlocked and that the driver's window was open. I went back downstairs and the car was definitely locked, the windows were closed with the side mirrors turned in. I then unlocked the door and started the car again and the center screen said that the download was successful. I once again turned off the engine, locked the door with my remote and the same error message that the vehicle was open appeared on the MY BMW app.

Finally I pressed on the lock icon in the phone app and that did the trick. What a pain in the butt!

Nothing specific.
Function updates and quality enhancements.
Didn’t notice any difference.

I was just today finally offered the 03/23 update. Installation was smooth and uneventful.
