I also tried a ZIP code in west central Wyoming. When I entered the ZIP, it popped up a window saying "Your nearest BMW dealer is closer than you think." and then gave 2 dealers in Utah to pick from. I checked them (one at a time - the only option). The mileage was almost identical at roughly 179 miles.

So it appears that beyond 100 miles you get to see one dealer's stock with it being the closest by default.
Thanks for checking it out and answering my question.

If you're a veteran, BMW has a military appreciation program for $1,500 discount.

Best deal going. The 7 rebates I've received over the last 20 years has more than paid for the membership.

My only comment is the CCA really tries to set expectations low. When you submit your claim online, they tell you it could be several weeks before they verify it and forward to BMW NA. Then 4 or five days later I get an email saying everything is good and they're sending it to BMW. They tell you that could take 3 months or so. A week later I received the check.

I was able to negotiate a 500.- discount AFTER ordering and downpayment, a week before delivery which I thought was unexpected. I did talk them out of adding any of the dealer-installed stupid options for 4k, like window tinting and edge protections, etc. which is way overpriced, and got it done locally together with the PPF. The interest rate offered was 5.9%, so I rather did not take a loan, shame they have no special offeres like Audi did recently at 1.99%.

Audi financial subsidizes their prices with lower-than-LIBOR financing - they also have no free maintenance. Were you looking at a TTS? One approach is take the BMW $1000 off for financing and then pay the car down fast.

I’d never buy an Audi…

Even if they offered 0%

Just know that you have to have been a member for 12 months at the time of delivery to qualify (6 months if you buy a 3-year membership).

I’m about the redrive the m40i shortly

I’m very appreciative of your posting

I’m driving the Z4 m40i and the 718 Boxster 2.5 GTS back to back

I’m heavily leaning towards the BMW

The GTS is still a contender but the BMW is way more practical and affordable at the same time and the engine is more capable as well

That’s a great deal by the way❕

I drove the 718 Boxster GTS again

Very nice car overall but the sound is something I’m not sure I could get use to

Will take my wife out in the M40i in a few days for a direct comparison

I’m not as interested in the Porsche as I thought I’d be

Assume this is the 4.0 and not a 4cyl GTS? I’m usually underwhelmed by Porsche as well, especially when considering the $$. The caymans I drove occasionally over the years were too cramped and raw for my taste. Until you push them, which is where they shine. And they are built well.

It was a 2.5 L GTS…. A used 4.0 GTS is 100k and to rich for me at this time

I’m coming from a M2, that I absolutely adore, so it’s got to be good

4.0 GTS models are $100k even used. I drove a 2.5 GTS and was underwhelmed . Engine sounds sucks. I am
Sure a 4.0 GTS would be a blast but you can get a comparable M40i for $55-60 used… I don’t think the 4.0 justifies a $40k premium!
